If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

hazelpethig I'm here for the challenge, but I will tell a story anyway. We found out yesterday that the high school band my daughter is in won first place in their category in the local music festival. They have been invited to play in the final concert, where all category winners perform. So tonight my best friend, who's daughter is also in the band, and I will be dressing to the nine's to go out and watch our daughters perform. My daughter has a solo, which comes at the end of their last song. So the last thing the audience will hear is my daughter playing her flute! Yay!

Samoyed7 While driving to church on the Natchez Trace Parkway here in Mississippi, we spotted a feral black sow and her three black and brown piglets cheefully meandering on the shoulder. They may be considered a nuisance but they certainly are a sight to behold.

The latest version of the popular computer simulation game "SimCity" was released in North America this past Tuesday, March 5. I have a copy of the game, but I don't have a computer to run it on. It requires a dual-core machine to run it, and the most powerful computer I currently own is an older Pentium IV. A Pentium IV is great for browsing the Internet and for playing trivia, but not so good for running games that require a dual-core machine.

The "SimCity" franchise has seen its highs - "SimCity 3000 Unlimited" and "SimCity 4" with the Rush Hour expansion are two of the best city simulators I've ever played - and its lows - there's still a lot of angst over "SimCity Societies". So I'm really anxious to get a good rig that can handle the game.

Think i have discovered Dark Matter. As that can be the only reason for the self service tills in the supermarket to tell me "Unexpected item in bagging area". I can say that i only bought two loaves of bread for the purpose of toast.

KailuaKid I teach Computer Science at the college level. I am perplexed and disheartened by how intellectually lazy our younger, incoming students are!

In the long run, I fear less people will enter, or stay in, the teaching profession. It will not be the hours, or the low pay that drives them away, it will be this frustration with the quality of the students!

It is a JOY to teach a student who wants to learn! Conversely, trying to get a student to want to learn that does NOT, is frustrating and demoralizing!

I wish that I knew the cause, of this lack of ambition, responsibility, interest, etc. Then perhaps we could work on a cure!

I am not much for country music but I heard a song for the first time yesterday that has been out for some time going back to last year. It was called "Pontoon" by a group called Little Big Town. I was really surprised. Damn good song!

I too am here for the challenge.

I too am still waiting for that epic challenge to pop up and am wondering if I would recognize it if I saw it.

I was just talking with a young woman who was surprised today that she scored 800 out of 800 points on the reading section of her GED exam - she dropped out of high school a few years ago to get married and start a family and has no idea how smart she is. She will be a dream student in someone's community college class, and I hope she will go on to university.

I have seen university students who can't write a complete sentence. I have seen university students cry over an A- when they really deserved a C.

My 18 month old great-grandson pointed at an umbrella this morning and said "UM-brella!"
