If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

We got our son a dog last year because he so desperately wanted one and we thought it would help teach him responsibility. No luck on the responsibility thing and I figure it has cost us about $3000 including the purchase price, shots, medical issues, and food. That does not include the things he has chewed up.

Our close neighbour and dear friend is in the last stages of terminal cancer. We have had the"goodbye" conversation, which was of course moving, but also calm and inspirational. She is prepared for the next stage of he journey, sad to leave her husband, family and friends but embracing an end to her pain and intensely curious about what lies ahead. Her identical twin died of exactly the same thing exactly a year ago. "She always liked to be first," our friend says.

Our friend is not "religious" in the go-to-church sense, but is committing her self body and soul to the care of a higher power. Whether that is God, Allah, the Master of the Universe or some other entity we cannot, in our infinitesimal smallness, perceive is something she is looking forward to discovering.

It's Sunday and St Patrick's Day and I expect a lot of people out there are looking forward to a nice, relaxing day - perhaps visiting friends, relatives or out celebrating. No such luck for me :( The only things I've got to look forward to are a trip to the tip to get rid of an old microwave oven and two broken chairs followed by a fascinating hour or so in the supermarket. I really need to get a life!

Fed up with the weather its either cold and damp or like today its pouring with rain, is there a Sun up there someplace?

C30 Trooper - In the "good old days" we had rain, we had sun , we called the combination "weather".........then somebody discovered a new buzz word "Global Warming".
Since then the sun has retired.

Last year, a Government Official declared a national drought in March...........henceforth it rained so much that the year ended up being the 2nd wettest on record. Very likely some Politician is responsible for the lack of sunshine in your country too!

C30 Further to above, had I checked before posting I would have noticed we are speaking about self same country - just from South of Watford Gap in your case, and North of it from mine.

A good Irish toast for St. Patrick's Day

I drink to your health when I'm with you,
I drink to your health when I'm alone,
I drink to your health so often,
I'm starting to worry about my own!

Not a good day to be an Irish Rugby fan though.

Nor an English one, for that matter.

Beavalicious My wife was given free tickets to Bon Jovi and was very exited to see them with her sister. I could not go because I have been under the weather. That should qualify as a sad story.

I had a blind date with a woman and we got to discussing films. I went on describing why the film "The Moon is Blue" had censorship problems. She replied "Yes, I know. I have the DVD" Four months later we got married.

Tuffluck Once more, I am required to share a story.
A story requires a beginning, a middle, and and end.
This is the end.

It looks like once again, we are going to get heaps more rain. As if we haven't had enough already! I think we need to change our numberplate from "The Sunshine State" to "The Unsunshine State" :)

ClaudiaCat We started a Funtrivia Team on 1 January 2013 and have now 20 members who join us on the Message Board and doing Team Games. It is a great feeling of achievement. Cheers ClaudiaCat

After losing my cat over a week ago and handing out heaps of flyers and posting notices everywhere - he turned up in the middle of the night last night and actually knocked on the door! I'm very happy

St. Patrick's Day was less celebrated in State College, PA than the student invented holiday, "State Patty's Day" this year. Don't know what this means about the college student mind.

roknox I am a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fan. My team has not won a championship since 1967 and they do not look any closer to winning one soon.

BenaBena Last night I looked at my challenges and one was to 'tell a story'. I left it for this morning as I didn't know what I was going to write. I'm not much at storytelling. Well now I have something to write because my Mum died about an hour ago. So that's my 'a sad story'. I'm typing here right now because I don't really know what else to do. When I finish writing, I have to go to the hospital and fill out and sign some paperwork. I'm not really sure what it will be but I'm guessing they will want to know my plans, and I don't really have any. I guess my typing here is stalling the inevitable. I feel very much alone right now but I'm waiting to tell the others so..so I delay their inevitable as well I guess. I know I'm sorta rambling but I think this is just what I need to do at this exact moment. Thanks funtrivia for giving me the exact challenge I needed at this exact moment.
