If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Tomorrow is my niece's first birthday. :) We're very excited and hopefully she'll have fun at the activity center we're taking her to. Doesn't feel like a year already since she was born!

It was interesting to see so many people liked the horse quiz that I created. It was done because of the challenge that was requested by another trivia player. In the end, everyone won a bit of the challenge.

What to write about...for a challenge. Recently the school cafeteria nutrition standards that the organization I work in recommended were implemented. They're designed to increase the portions of fruits and vegetables, reduce empty calories, etc., in general increase the healthfulness of school meals, and address the obesity problem. The reaction has been mixed. Many students, parents, and educators applaud the new meals. But others, mostly students, are up in arms about the lower calorie limits, saying they are always hungry now. Some school have staged protests, and one school's students even did a video about how hungry they are and how they don't like too many vegetables. There's always unanticipated reactions.

After thinking long and hard for something interesting to post, I thought perhaps we should ponder on the letter U.
Strange you may think, but us Brits like our letter U, in colour, neighbour and favour to name but a few, but on this site auto correct kicks in and tells us off
Also, think of the kids! How on earth would they be able to text so fast if they had to spell it "you", a whole two extra letters.
Thank You for reading my message, sorry if it's not exciting
C U L8er!

"Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'm schizophrenic,
And so am I."

It has been a quiet sort of day.

This is a joke told to me sometime ago by a friend of mine wh is sadly no longer with us.....here goes.

Reuben had prayed and prayed for a win on the lottery, he was a god fearing man who was always kind and generous, a little too generous some would say.

Oh god, oh god, I'm a good man please, please, please let me win the lottery, not even the jackpot second prize would do to get me out of trouble. Despite all this reuben had no luck. Then one day after all his pleading god spoke to him in a loud voice which made him tremble.

REUBEN, GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS, AND EVEN THOUGH I AM ALL POWERFUL AND ALL SEEING, SOME HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

SO BUY A TICKET!!

My nephew, who is s even, is learning about coin collecting. He found a 1939 "double die" nickel in a dealer's junk box and bought it for 25 cents. He sold it on eBay for over $200.

Sometimes it DOES take a Rocket Scientist!
Scientists at Rolls Royce built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the windshields of airliners and military jets all travelling at maximum velocity.
The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.
American engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the Windshields of their new high speed trains.
Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the American engineers.
When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken hurled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield, smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console, snapped the engineer's back-rest in two and embedded itself in the back wall of the cabin like an arrow shot from a bow..
The horrified Yanks sent Rolls Royce the disastrous results of the experiment, along with the designs of the windshield and begged the British scientists for suggestions.

Rolls Royce responded with a one-line memo:

"Defrost the chicken."

HobbitLady Just thought I'd share how fantastic the Harry Potter Studio tour is - last Sunday I and some fellow members of staff took a group of nearly 100 boarding pupils aged between 7 and 19 years old to this exhibition and never have I run a more sucessful trip! You know the kind of museum which is crammed full of stuff that you look at and go "Oh! I remember those" or "We had one of them" or "It takes me back to when..."? This is like that only with Harry Potter, but it also provides insights into how films like that are put together. We were there three hours but I could have happily occupied myself for at least half that again. Highlight? Hard to say ... Walking across the Hogwarts bridge, stepping into Diagon Alley or probably that moment where you see the huge model of Hogwarts for the first time. Great for kids of all ages. No, Warner Brothers are not paying me to write this!

I have also started my Christmas shopping. Since most of the people I give gifts to live out of town, I like to have everything in the mail by Thanksgiving (end of November).

We have a half-acre wood behind our house, with several types of trees, but mostly maples on the side nearest the house. We had our first hard frost Friday night and the maples have been dumping leaves like salt out of a shaker. They're 6 inches deep on our deck and back lawn. But our house is part of a condo development, so someone else has to rake them up. Hooray!

Once upon a time, a harried software engineer was married to a narcissistic jock. The jock pretended to be sick to get attention from the engineer, but it backfired as she was dealing with an important alternative-energy contract and had not time to tend to him. Nonetheless concerned for her ailing husband, she did hire a home health aide to look after him. The aide made a play for the husband, and though he was tempted, in the end he rejected her. The engineer never found out what was going on, and successfully completed the contract and made solar energy more affordable and accessible for all. The End.
