The US Open is about to start tomorrow, which means that some of the streets I drive on every day will be cordoned off for the week. If I could bring myself to care about golf, I'd go and watch them play.|

What a great 2 weeks holiday it was for the kids, almost felt like summer holidays. Glad it's back to normal now, though. House in need of a good scub.|

On day 3 of a 4 day weekend and the last day listening to the classical radio station countdown of the top 100 movie scores, either purpose written or adapted.
Fire lit, warm biscuits and cake for tea and all's right with My World.

Trying to organise a treasure hunt for my work colleagues. Sometimes it is more fun to prepare these things rather than participate.|

It is pouring down rain here and I am sitting by an open window listening and smelling; one of life's little pleasures.|

I used to have two cats; one was greedy and would eat and scavenge anything. One day I came home from work and there in her bowl was a much chewed and almost bare bone from a lamb chop. I had no idea where she got it but at least she was tidy and didn't leave the remains on my nice cream carpets.|
Some time later, I was walking down the road when I overheard a conversation between an elderly neighbour and her friend. "My son thinks I'm losing my mind," she said, "I swore I had got a chop for his dinner out of the freezer but when I went to cook it there was only an empty dish."
Gentle reader, I walked on...

Went for a medical procedure today. Prepped all day yesterday. Not saying what the procedure was, but suffice it to say that it was a very 'moving' experience. Funny thing is, you prep for 24 hours and the procedure lasts 15 minutes. By the way, everything a-ok.|

Okay, here's my story: the other night, I woke up smelling something funny - it smelled like chemicals or something, so I woke my husband up (or tried to!) and asked him if he smelled something weird. He replied "I sure do!" I was surprised at his vehemence, especially since he'd been in a deep sleep. So I asked him what it was and he proceeded to give me this long, drawn out, complicated story about brakes and trains the stations and I was like, "Huh?" Pretty soon, he woke up for real and got up to investigate. Apparently, he'd left a battery charging in the basement and it overcharged and was starting to burn! He quickly went downstairs and took care of the situation, but when I asked him later what he was trying to tell me, he looked chagrined and admitted that he'd been dreaming - hee! Whatever, he just needs to be more careful in the future! |

Yesterday I went to my cousin Jessica's 8th grade graduation held at a Catholic church. In one of the songs that were sang, Jessica had a brief solo part and me and my mom thought her voice sounded so angelic. We did not even know she could sing like that. When complimented about how she sang, she herself said she did not know she could sing like that. God has truly given her a gift.|

This will be my daughters final week of A level examinations before moving on to university in September.
As I myself failed to finish school and left with no qualifications, I am extremely proud of all she has achieved.
Proud Pixie xx
