For several weeks now I'm back to funtrivia.com after a long absence and I'm hooked all over again! :)|
I'm so loving the daily challenges and really hope to make it to the last stage of the Knockout today, for the first time ever ;)

I have an obsession with this site. I average about 2,000-3,000 points a day about half from quizzes and half from games. I spend way to much time on this at work and if they monitor what I do on my computer, I would have been fired years ago. But it would have been worth it.|
Funtrivia fulfills my desire to learn and my OCD in repetitive actions and sucess. I research answers with Google on split screens, "cheat" with fun facts with answers, and get records of my result.
My life would be emptier without funtrivia. Kind of sad to admit, but I don't care. Thanks Terry.

I was very fortunate to win some money at a Casino! I won it on a slot machine. It was very emotional and fun.|

This is a story my Mom told me about her friend, Edna, who was from Norway, and had become very hard-of-hearing. The two were working on one of the cruise ships to Carnival in Rio, and were sunbathing on deck during their break, when a new girl appeared coming towards them, and Edna 'whispered' to my Mom, "That's the woman who died when her mother was born!" |
Edna's 'whisper' was more like a roar, so everyone heard it and stared at the amazing woman.

In less than a week, I have a "meet and greet" with one of my favorite bands, who have been a great inspiration for me. I'm beyond excited and really hope we're allowed to take photos in there. :D|

This week, the major international soccer game between England and Poland in a newly built very high-tech stadium was, incredibly, called off at the last minute due to a waterlogged pitch.|
I went to see a game played by a local team Stourport Swifts, a minor league side who normally only get 100 spectators, that was scheduled to take place at exactly the same time as the England game. When I called in at my favourite fish and chip shop on the way, all wrapped up in thermals and carrying a blanket, the owner said that I was crazy and that I should join everyone else in the pubs and watch the England game in the warm on the TV with some beers.
In the end, the 20-30 of us who went to watch the Swifts actually saw a soccer game, where the frustrated England fans in the pubs didn't. AND we won 7-0. When I passed the chip shop on the way back, I gave the owner a big thumbs up sign through the window. I know Schadenfreude is wrong, but on that cold foggy Tuesday evening it felt rather good...

I had my hair cut today - the first time in nine months. The last time I had it cut was when I was seven months pregnant: my daughter is now seven months old. I was starting to resemble 'It', but thankfully I can now see where I'm going again.|

We recently had an employee appreciation day at our work facility, which is on the north side of Charlotte. In addition to getting some lovely gifts, including a new laptop bag and a blanket, we were also treated to a catered lunch and some fun and games.|
One of the games we played involved tossing five plastic rings at glass bottles. Getting a ringer - a ring around the neck of a bottle - earned a shot glass and, if you wanted it, a shot of a popular energy drink. After lamenting the fact that one of my colleagues, a champion horseshoe pitcher, was out of town and unable to give me some pointers (because I can't pitch anything and get it to flip), I gave it a whirl. I got a ringer on my third toss. I took my shot glass without the shot of energy drink.

I heard a great presentation on Easter Island and its statues today. A team of archeologists is studying the relationship of building the statues to the loss of the civilization there, a theory long proposed as to the extinction of a civilization there. Watch NOVA on November 7 for a program on how the statues might have been moved from their hilltop creation to the valley far below. |

Just finished watching "Paranormal Activity" on Space TV. More frightening than "The Blair Witch Project"? No way!|

I've been trying to catch Businox in my class. It seems every time I get close he goes on a tear and puts distance between us.|

Good day Fun Trivia!|
I want to share with you my strategy for working a full-time job, two part-time jobs, taking care of two cats and a husband - all while still managing the time to play FT! In fact, I feel like playing FT really helps me to manage all the other things I have going on in my life. It helps to have "categories" and "compartments" to place things and I try to find a way to do it all! I get up a little extra earlier in the morning to get my "FT fix" before work and I play at lunchtime and afterwork on my cellphone and then try to fit in the major games in the evening, right before bed. It's my schedule and I find that I get more accomplished in a day when I start off with FT - amazing! Just wanted to share before going to work - thanks for listening!

I just joined the Shedrick Elephant Sanctuary as a "godparent" to an orphaned baby elephant. Poachers had killed the mother for her ivory and left the little one to die. The baby was rescued and is thriving in the African sanctuary. For a few dollars a month donation, you give these .lovely creatures a second chance. It really does feel good inside.|

Last time I posted here I was way too verbose. I'm keeping it short this time :)|

Funtrivia is always so nice to relax, when coming home from a busy day at work. Along with a nice cup of coffee, I always play the trivia to wind down. Best way to relieve stress, if there ever was one.|

It's Sunday today, and I don't have anything interesting to report. I think that I'll just have a relaxing day inside, playing FT and doing a bit of studying.|

Autumn has begun in Germany. Yesterday we had 20 degrees, today 5 and everything covered by fog. A perfect day to break some FT records, though :)|
