Only a few more days and my first year will be completed. It's such an exciting time, just think, another wonderful badge. I would like to take this opportunity to wish a special thanks to my two dogs for their total support and heart felt encouragement.

Today I must go into the office to tell a secretary that I have lost the forms she gave me to complete. I will have to get a new set and return them to the office as quickly as possible. Not looking forward to making extra work for someone else because of my carlessness.

I live in a country that is supposedly, according to all previous years, in the bloom of spring. We have had rain, and plenty of it, every day for the last month. Due to this I have a feeling, though not supported by the looking glass, that I am not just moldy and green around my edges but totally covered from stem to stern in mold! Spring sunshine, wherefore art thou?

It's holiday (again) next Tuesday. It's the Deepavali festival celebrated by the Indian community in Malaysia. It's good to live in Malaysia - we celebrate so many different occasions because of the unique multiracial society that we have. :)

I was at a garden center the other day, and it was breezy. There were quite a few hanging wind chimes placed randomly; and together they sounded like bells on the wind--exactly like the beginning of Plainsong on Disintegration by the Cure.( I love this song and the whole album of course). I had this incredible urge to take over the loud speaker system, put the album on and Blast it! I pictured it happening which made me grin madly. Of course I didn't do it. But the image and the sound stayed with me throughout the day (and the mad grin).

I was following a car through the city today on my motorcycle. I stopped to allow another driver to pull out from a side road. It was a good job I did, as when I approached the next junction a driver ran the red light and shot across in front of me, right where I would have been if I hadn't paused to let the first bloke out. The universe was looking after me today... :)

It's that time of year again! All the invitations are going out to watch the grandchildren sing and dance in their Christmas pantomimes. Why is it that only the grandmother's seem to enjoy the shows?

If someone tells me he/she doesn't like cats, that cats don't show affection or don't do what you tell them to do, I know I'm talking to a person who's never owned a cat. Cats only love and respect those who treat them in kind. They're much too intelligent to be bothered with the others. In my lifetime of owning animals I've never known a cat that didn't give me as much affection as the dogs or didn't come to me when called. A home is empty without a cat curled up sleeping nearby.

Me missus bought a paperback
Down town on Saturday,
I had a peep into her bag;
'Twas “Fifty Shades of Grey."
Well I just left her to it,
And at ten I went to bed.
An hour later she appeared;
The sight filled me with dread.
Her left hand held a length of rope;
And in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor,
And then began to strip.
Well fifty years or so ago
I might have had a peek;
But Doris hasn’t weathered well;
She’s eighty four next week.
Watching Doris bump and grind
Could not have been much grimmer.
Things then went from bad to worse;
She toppled off her Zimmer!
She struggled up upon her feet
A cuppla minutes later;
She put her teeth back in and said
That I must dominate her!!
Now if you knew our Doris,
You would see just why I spluttered,
I’d spent two months in traction
For the last complaint I’d uttered.
She stood there nude, just naked like,
Bent forward just a bit ….
I took a pace to brace meself
And stood on her left tit!
Old Doris screamed, her teeth shot out;
My god what had I done?
She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
“Step on the other one!”
Well readers, I won't tell no more
What happened on that day.
Suffice to say my jet black hair
Turned “fifty shades of grey”.

Well, I got to work without my train being late; there were no impossible emails waiting for me when I logged on; I'm having my second cup of tea of the day...
Things can only get worse!

It looks as though Winter is here in Eastern Oregon, the thermometer is in the low 30's and snow predicted for later in the week. Looking on the bright side it means that it will be to cold to do much outside so I will have more time for trivia.

When I was 27 we moved to a new area, along with our year old child, and opened a veterinary practice. I'd been having a hard time breathing off and on for a while but since we had no health insurance I lived with it. It finally got so bad I had to go to the doctor. Of course I "knew" it was acute lung cancer and I was going to die, leaving my wonderful husband with an equally wonderful son and a brand new practice to run. I was a basket case...until the doctor assured my all I had was "acute allergic bronchitis", probably brought on by stress, and told me to go the the drugstore and buy an OTC broncho-dilator for those times that I needed it.
WHAT A RELIEF! I've laughed about that and my "diagnosis" of lung cancer for years.

I really enjoy refilling office supplies. Something about opening the staples box and getting the largest set of staples I can find...or opening a new tape box with that smell of Scotch tape.
And I have such lovely co-workers that they let me refill their supplies. Once, my co-worker even waited for me to come into work so that I could refill his tape.

I had breakfast today. A few hours later, got a call. My mom said it was benign, so all is good. I feel better now. Sort a.
