If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Reserved1 I went to shopping earlier and I realized that Christmas is getting near. I wonder if I can get a gift or I will be the one to give a gift.

I am just feeling happy and content today. Yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the USA which always gives me time to pause and consider my many, many blessings. I am the first one to complain about life, but I really am "rich" in so many ways. I have a loving husband and a roof over my head and a job that I like most of the time that pays a decent wage. We have a son who is about to give us our first grandchild - well, not him specifically but I think you know what I mean! hee-hee! Life is good, especially when chatting with my fellow Beeronians on my Fun Trivia team, The Beeronians!

While all the Americans were gobbling up their Thanksgiving turkey yesterday, I went out for a final short ride on the motorcycle before winterizing it and parking it in the back corner of the garage.
It cost me 9 good credits to tell you this. My last story was on p.17, back on October 17.

jamieandbald Man, Technology, Gotta Love it, since I got on Facebook a couple years back, I found a web site for the Navy ship I was on in the later 80"s. Since then ran across some old shipmates and have been conversing ever since, Man how time changes people...

Fun times, Jamie. My old shipmates are also online. I'm from the early 80s. USS Puget Sound. Now De-commissioned. I hope it has found a nice home. I left a dollar bill with a note behind a cabinet in the Chaplain's office.

I hope you have hooked up with some old pals. I still keep in touch with my chief and my chaplain. I suppose I should call them.

Happy Holidays!

Thom

A few years ago, I was teaching a section on the theme of regrets in a literature course. I said, somewhat lugubriously, that the only regret I had was that I had never had children and consequently, they were all my children. One boy's immediate response was: "That's great, Mum! Can I have the car tonight!"

KFV I went scuba diving on Columbus Day 2010 off the New Jersey coast. I was getting ready to go in and said to the captain, "Could you hand me my camera when I get in? I don't know why I take it, there's usually not much to shoot." He replied that I could take a picture of my buddy and that you never know. When I descended to the wreck I began swimming along the port side of the ship and felt a presence over my shoulder. I turned to see two sand tiger sharks, each about six to eight feet, cruising right next to me. I was sure glad I took the camera with me, as was everyone else on the dive.I got two good shots and many requests to email them to fellow divers!

I've posted here before about a friend who was going to be homeless. Well I'm happy to report that she got to have her whole family with her in her new home for 2012 Thanksgiving.

Didn't know there were oak trees down here in Florida. It's kind of weird to find an acorn on the ground 15 feet from a coconut!

This should be an interesting, and hopefully, an entertaining story. This is what I did on Friday, November 23rd. I walked to my local bank, which is at the intersection of 1st, and E. Grace Street to sign a form for a recent savings account I opened. Then after that, I crossed over 2nd Street, and went to the post office which is between Grace Street, and Broad Street on North 2nd Street. At the post office, I baught a book of forever stamps. The total was $9.00 After that, I walked backacross Grace Street, then across 2nd, and went to a local restaurant called Pearly's. There, I purchased a bacon cheeseburger, chips, and an unsweetened iced tea. the total was only $9.91 After that, I followed grace Street, crossed 1st, kept walking on Grace 1 more block to Foushee Street. I turned right on Foushee, walked 1 block to Broad Street. I turned left on Broad Street, and walked 1 more block, crossed Adams, then I crossed Broad Street. I walked North along Adams, and there's a point where adams runs into a small road called Brook. I made a left on Brook, walked another block, to Marshall, where I made another left. walked another block and a half to my apartment complex. Made another left, and went up the little sidewalk, and finally, I went into the building, and went into my apartment

Having read the book "Life of Pi", twice, I am eagerly waiting for the film, which will be released next week, yay. :) I have seen the trailer; it looks amazing.

Yesterday was a typical post-Thanksgiving day of dealing with leftovers. The dogs are waiting their turn...

I was looking on Facebook the other day and saw that one of my cousins was going to be meeting The Queen an hour later. The Queen and Prince Philip were visiting the community centre where my cousin works and which is only a 2 minute walk from my house. I went there and saw Her Majesty and His Highness & was able to take some photos of the visit from across the street. If not for Facebook I wouldn't have known about it. (It was fortunate that I was off work that day because of having a new front door fitted, so that worked out very well!)

I will just share something grumpy with you today, for the simple reason that i really can't think of anything else.

"I am really irritated by the weather this week."

Thanks for listening.

I had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with my family a couple days ago. I can't stand turkey, so I just ate a load of stuffing and mashed potatoes.

Today we get to babysit our grand-daughter. Her name is Ava and she is just past seven months old. She has the cutest toothless grin and she loves Mickey Mouse.
