Alabama-Georgia should be a good game. Think Georgia will be competitive.

Georgia stumbled out of the blocks against South Carolina but have the quietest impressive team since then. I do hope it will be a good game, I think the Alabama team is showing some wear and tear from the brutual SEC regular season.

Right now I would give my Heisman Trophy vote to Collin Klein, Johnny Manziel would be my 2nd and Manti Te'o would be 3rd on my list.

All 3 are the heart and soul of over acheiving teams this year.

I can't blame Colorado too much for firing a coach that went 1-11, but it would be a shame to see this be Jon Embree's last job as a Head Coach or co-ordinator after his moving and poignant press conference.

I still do not understand the myth of the "rugged SEC schedule." Notre Dame's schedule was much tougher than Alabama's or any other SEC team. Alabama plays about five games a season, and pads its schedule with cream puffs so that it effectively gets a week off between every game. ND is one of only three major college teams that has NEVER played a class AA opponent.

pyonir The SEC schedule thing is overstated, that I agree with, but 6 of the top 10 teams in the BCS standings are from the SEC. That's a pretty good indicator. I also agree that ND did play a good schedule, but just because they didn't schedule FCS teams (AA teams), doesn't mean they didn't put in some "sure wins". Wake Forest, BC, Navy (yes Navy is 7-4, but they didn't beat anyone, really), Purdue and Pitt (who actually lost to a FCS team). Not exactly murderers row.

No, but they were good teams when they were scheduled a ouple of years ago. You can't predict the future. Look at Alabama - Western Kentucky, Western Carolina? Are you serious? The fact that six of the top teams in the BCS are in the SEC doesn't mean anything. The entire BCS process is biased towards the SEC. These teams get ranked solely on the basis that they are in the SEC. They seldom play quality opponents outside their conference, so it's a self-sustaining process.

The athletic director of CU should have been fired instead of the coach. Seven losing seasons with him choosing the coaches should tell people the problem is higher than the coach.

pyonir They don't have to schedule tougher opponents because they play tough opponents for conference games. All they have to do is win their conference and know they'll probably have a shot at the title game (or at least a BCS game). ND doesn't play conference games...they have no year in, year out tough opponents except for teams like USC they schedule every year. Oh and Alabama played Michigan to start the year, who were ranked 8 at the time.

I'm far from an SEC apologist, since I agree that teams are given too much weight for playing in the conference. But the teams are good...very good. Why should I schedule a tough FBS team, that I might lose to and ruin my title hopes, when I can get the same amount of money for playing a FCS team and be ready for LSU coming up next week. Or Arkansas or Auburn, etc.

ND doesn't schedule all FBS teams just because they want to play a tougher schedule, let's be honest here. They do it because they make more money that way on television, ticket sales and get better recruiting in the states they play in. That's also the reason they decided to join the ACC "part time", to get the money and the recruiting exposure.

Here is a good article comparing strength-of-schedule for Notre Dame, Alabama and Georgia:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--sec-rout-of-notre-dame-far-from-guaranteed-205348035.html

Notre Dame's record aaginst Alabama is 5-1. Notre Dame's record against the SEC is 32-14. No team in the SEC has a winning record against Notre Dame.

Today's Alabama-Georgia game may be closer than many people imagine. Alabama has feasted on a lot of cream puffs this season. So has Georgia, but apart from the inexplicable drubbing at the hands of South Carolina, Georgia has played well. I think it will be a competitive game, and I wouldn't rule out the chance for a Georgia victory.

TCU played Oklahoma good today and the booth review changing the incomplte pass to a fumble recovered by Oklahoma and the missed Field Goal that looked like it was good were tough calls that went against TCU, that I thought should have been called the other way.

TCU played one heck of a game. I really thought they were going to win it. Tough loss.

I can't believe the final play of the Alabama-Georgia game. Why on earth didn't the QB spike the ball with 12 seconds left? And why didn't their receiver drop the ball when he saw he couldn't get out of bounds? Unbelievable! Alabama was very fortunate to win the game. I don't think Notre Dame is exactly shaking in their boots.

I didn't see the end of the game, but that is precisely what my husband began ranting about as soon as the clock ran out.

AntonLaVey Alabama/Notre Dame? Sweet. Can Notre Dame stuff the Bama running game? Can they hang with Tide's offense at all? It's going to be a fun one, no matter what happens.

The juggernaut defending champs vs the upstart Cinderella who has found a way to win all their games so far. Nice.

And Nebraska? On this day, you are an embarrassment to all football players, all teams, all fans, and everybody else who only got a whiff of that stink you've put up in this game. You should be stripped of your bowl game.

I will say that it is a bit of an embarrassment to have an 8-5 team be the standard bearer for a great conference like the Big 10 and go to a BCS Bowl. The only thing that could have been worse for the BCS would have been if 6-6 Georgia Tech had gotten a lucky TD somehow and beaten Florida State to go to a BCS Bowl. At 7-5 to be playing for the Big 10 Conference Championship is crazy. I know sanctions on the two best teams in their division are the cause of it, but it still shouldn’t be. Where did that running attack come from, I hadn’t seen it all year out of the Badgers, were they doing a rope-a-dope all season, knowing how easy the road to the Conference Championship was?

Nebraska choose not to go to the Rose Bowl in California.
Wisconsin was too tough.
They are bowl bound to Florida instead--Orlando or Tampa! Go Huskers! Pressure is off--time to have fun with football.

I'm interested to see who Boise State plays in their Bowl game. I hope its not Arizona State again. The Broncos had an off year at 10-2, but their defense is very good. Offense still needs some work, but that's to be expected with a new QB. They could easily have gone undefeated again with a litle luck. Their two losses were by a combined six points. They'll be back with the big boys next season.
