The book was first published in the early part of this century and the Author is still alive and kicking, as far as I am aware. It is by no means his first book as he is quite a prolific author.

Thanks for that Paul and no he is not the author. To re-cap this author is English, famous in more ways than one and has been a prolific writer of many novels some of which have been best sellers. This particular book I thought was one of the best but that is just a personal opinion.

Sorry, neither of those. According to the information in the preface of my copy of this book it was first published in 2002 which makes it later than those.

Further clue: According to the book cover it is "His new bestseller" I don't know if that is fact or advertising fiction. But based on that it should be well known.
