To explain: I excluded plays, specifically, for a reason. Plays and books are different art forms. Play are intended to be acted out in front of an audience, and books (novels/novellas) are intended to be read (and thus, not acted out). I do think that another thread cold be started for plays though! There are so many good plays out there. And I do love plays! This thread, however, I intended to be just for books. Which is why I titled it "What Book Am I?"

OK
This is not a play, and it is not an opera either, although its title is very close to that of a very well known opera. It's a crime fiction, part of a series, from the 90s. It is somewhat of a pastiche and makes many references to the similarly named opera. Author now dead.
