I'm pretty sure there will be a lockout. But, here is my guarantee.

The Winter Classic will be the FIRST game of the year. The league has too much money in that game to keep the lockout going. They have nothing to lose now, but come December, they'll have tons.

Gary Bettman is on the owners side, and since the game recovered and came back even stronger from the last lockout, he and the owners are thinking that they have nothing to lose, conveniently forgetting that it was them who put themselves in this position by signing players to ridiculous contracts.
A lot of posturing and big bloody egos guarantee that we're going to lose at least half the season.
Some body is going to blink, let's just hope it's sooner rather then later.

pyonir Given the free agent off season the Wild had, I'm hoping it gets done sooner rather than later. High hopes in Minnesota this year for the first time in a while.

Ahh, pyonir but with the length Parise and Suter are signed for, I think they'll be playing before their contracts are up.

pyonir Haha, very true George. It's nice to see Parise come home too. Many of the Minnesota born stars come back to MN at some point or another. It's just that "I want it now" feeling we are having. :P

Between the greed displayed by both sides and the cost of tickets, I think I'm done with hockey.

toocool4u The cost of tickets varies greatly depending on the city. For example, in Florida they are offering Panthers' season tickets for $168 !!! Here in Winnipeg, I'd have to pay that much just to get to one game.
