Austrian "Fearless" Felix Baumgartner is going scheduled to jump from the edge of space on Sunday, provided that the conditions are right, the jump has already been pushed back 6 days. They say he will reach a speed of 700 miles per hour.

This will break a 50 year record by approximately 18,000 feet.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Personally, I never could see the sense in jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane LOL

Greatguggly Edge of space. Imagine miscalculating that by a centimeter or two and becoming a satellite.

There will be a 2 minute time delay in the broadcast, in case anything goes awry, a real possibility in this particular endeavor.
Personally, i'm cheering for the guy. This guy has big brass ones to be attempting something like this.
Imagine the view when he steps out of the space capsule, and what he will be experiencing when he makes that irrevocable jump and to approach the speed of sound, while in free fall for 6 to 7 minutes before you deploy the chute, all i can say is WOW.
Apologies to David Bowie, but he will be 'The Man who Fell to Earth'

He did it, waiting to for a roller coaster to get to the top can take forever, imagine sitting in that capsule waiting for it to reach 128,000 feet.
