The time has come to test your mettle, new and prolific authors alike. Come one, come all! FunTrivia's Adventures in Authoring are beginning!

http://www.funtrivia.com/authorthis.cfm

Use this thread to discuss your progress, talk about your quizzes for the game, or ask for help. The Author's Lounge is a wonderful place to both learn and challenge yourself, so if you happen to get stuck, don't panic. It's why we're here!

Remember not to reveal the mysteries of the game-- while everyone's adventures may take them in different directions, the mysteries only have one solution.

Oh, and most importantly, enjoy! FunTrivia wouldn't be what it is without players and writers!

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

I think I have written four quizzes for AinA, and have just come up with a title and theme for the next one.

Submitted my next quiz-- second part of the first quiz on something I wrote, also for AA, coincidentally.

What a difference being back in the comfort zone. I can't wait to finish these last two challenges {also my excuse not to finish those I've been procrastinating with...but they're almost done).

I wish I were back in my comfort zone. Maybe I should just abandon the particular Author Challenge that is holding me up. But what to do with the questions I've written?

Copy them into a Word document and keep them for use and/or inspiration later.

or put them in the single question quest

Continuing, I reach what may be the easiest quiz-writing challenge I have to do...

Mission accomplished, but there'a long Q. What's the next step? Or am I supposed to find it through the secret passageway in here?

mission is accomplished once the quiz goes on line Alexis. The system will then allow you to move on to the next clue.

Even though the challenge is easy, I am unusually lazy...

Thanks, polucci!

Okay, I wanted a challenge that was less redundant...

My next challenge could have been satisfied by a recently-submitted-but-not-yet-online quiz, if I hadn't so efficiently written my quizzes in the order in which they were undertaken. I think I need a rest.

Buddy1 looney_tunes, I'm a little confused by your comment. Are you saying that if you submit a quiz that fulfills the set of requirements but do it before you are given the requirements, it doesn't count? (Or were you saying that one quiz submits two different sets of requirements?)

I am assuming that a quiz you put into a template before you got the task in AinA won't count, even if it goes online after you got the task. That only seems fair to me, just a bit frustrating that if I had kept it in my Word document as a work in progress until I could use it for AinA, I could have used it to fulfill the next requirement.

the positive spect LT is that we get another quality crafted quiz out of you

L_T, you can check if it qualifies by going back to the clue. I would think it's unlikely, but you would know for sure. You know you love writing quizzes, anyway, so I agree with Poll - another new quiz is good for the rest of us.

I will of course find out when the quiz in question goes online, and I can check if the clue accepts it. I would be surprised. I was just complaining about the ornariness of the universe, which we have all experienced. I have already girded my loins to write the quiz required by the next clue, even though the one in the editing queue would have worked if I had held off with it. I feel tempted to keep all my ideas in Word, waiting for AinA to want it. :D

On my second task, I had just had a quiz put online that day that satisfied the clue. So I was kind of annoyed I didn't hold off a few hours more, or even the editor! But actually, I made a new one for the clue, and really enjoyed it; I don't think it would have come into being otherwise, so ultimately I'm grateful I missed the clue on the first quiz. :)

Buddy1 I have two quizzes that are ready to be submitted, but I'm holding onto them just in case they can be used as AA quizzes.
