The time has come to test your mettle, new and prolific authors alike. Come one, come all! FunTrivia's Adventures in Authoring are beginning!

http://www.funtrivia.com/authorthis.cfm

Use this thread to discuss your progress, talk about your quizzes for the game, or ask for help. The Author's Lounge is a wonderful place to both learn and challenge yourself, so if you happen to get stuck, don't panic. It's why we're here!

Remember not to reveal the mysteries of the game-- while everyone's adventures may take them in different directions, the mysteries only have one solution.

Oh, and most importantly, enjoy! FunTrivia wouldn't be what it is without players and writers!

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

My quiz is up as an Editor's Choice! Thanks to Looney_Tunes for editing. It was a fun quiz to write, and I don't think it will be a hard one if you like American novels. http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/Literature/Four-Words-The-Title-357496.html

Oof-- the amount of progress on Part III today... At this rate it'll actually be written in full someday! ;)

Buddy1 When is that someday that it will be written in full?

Congratulations on the thumb nannywood, well deserved, a really good quiz.

Relax and enjoy the party, Buddy1 - it will happen when it happens, and we have plenty of chocolate (and quizzes to write for lounge challenges). Maybe we should collaborate on a group quiz while we wait.

There's no date set in stone. I'm hoping the power comes back by April.

The story is pushing forward and I hope to be half-done writing Part III tonight.

I'd prepare for a dangerous adventure ahead. Lots of explosive action, shooting, bribery and extortion, a trip to a hidden paradise, and maybe even a musical number.

Oh no not a musical number... Anything but a musical number.

Buddy1 I've been enjoying the party for 2 weeks. I want to get back to work!

Lol totally understood. I'm writing it out pretty quickly-- more than half-done the story. I hope to finish it by Saturday, but there are still behind-the-curtain things that Terry needs to make and code before it's ready to go. It may be earlier than April.

Until then, you have a few Authoring badges to get still-- you never know what future prerequisites you'll be asked to provide. ;)

BUT...Writing the game stagnated for me about a couple months ago. I'm glad it came back to me. Just like a quiz. :p

Only a few more 'steps' to plan out.

Should I end it on a cliffhanger?

Yes, cliffhanger! Please. :)

Gotta have SOME closure if we're ending with a full badge though...

Buddy1 Closure--even if there was no badge. Even if it's a deus ex machina ending, there should be closure.

Re: "Even if it's a deus ex machina ending, there should be closure."

Haha! No deus ex machina, unfortunately.

We'll have to see how it goes.

Apparently this is the place to go for news about the third tier. A full badge is a nice incentive. 10 of us are patiently waiting in the dimly lit cavern. I'm reasonably certain that it's a cavern because a hollow voice whispers, "plugh."

Trust me, the badge is only one aspect of it. :)

There is also a long-term plan for AA, so if you do happen to make it to the end, there will be the opportunity to continue your adventures for further rewards.

Buddy1 According to Terry's post, there is one more mini-badge, a full badge, and an extra special something. Assuming this still holds true, I can't wait to see what is in store.

All of it's true.

There will also be rewards for any possible further adventures.
