What you're in for is trepidatious anticipation, a moment of fear as you read your title and have absolutely no idea what you could possibly write, a Eureka moment when a viableidea arrives, followed by a growing sense that you can do it, and a wonderful sense of satisfaction when you get it done. This process may involve one or more of the crucial quiz-writing ingredients of coffee, chocolate and alcohol.

Gracious1, don't forget to send me the title you wish to submit for the Commission (via the mail system).
You'll end up sending a title to fit the requirements and you'll get a new one back to complete. :)

Monday night, right? So I can sign up on Monday? I still have to finish the Bob quiz. Could I finish writing it but not submit it because of another quiz and still sign up for this? If so, I'll finish the quiz tomorrow and email you the title.

I have a couple questions as someone who has never done this before.
If, for some reason, I can't write/complete the quiz from the title I've been given, I believe I can just not write the quiz. Is that true? If so, what happens to the title I've been given?
Also, to get the Quiz Commission mini-badge, do I just write the quiz (and have it placed on-line) or is there something else I need to do?

If you cannot write the quiz you can give the title back and another author will step up to take it. Once the quiz goes online the minibadge is awarded I believe.

Superfan-- you can send me the title regardless of what you have in progress; it just has to be before the deadline.
The badgelet is sent when the quiz goes online. We try to avoid dropouts at any costs, but if the quiz is dragging for months and months without progress then it will be handed back.

A word of advice to first-timers - don't panic when you see your title. (And don't ask Rossian about commission titles, or you will hear unintelligible splutterings about sheep and catapults.) I received a title in one commission that took me over a week to find any possible way that I could see to use it,and a lot longer to work it into a quiz. Let it percolate, and write something else while you wait for inspiration, if necessary. You can do it, and it feels great!

Good luck to all the new participants. It's always nerve wracking to have to write to a title you've never seen, even for those of us who have done it before. My first reaction is still blind panic when I see what I've been given, but time usually solves that. There's no rush to do the quiz the day/week/month you get your title. Kyle only starts chasing if the wait turns to months.

Aaargh! The sheep, the sheep. I still have nightmares about that title. I'm not one to point the finger, but we all know to blame Eb*rge. Yes, it took me a long time to come up with a viable quiz, but I got there and it has sunnies, so an unpromising beginning led to a satisfactory conclusion. Imagination and lateral thinking can be useful, but not always necessary.
