I'm writing a quiz for AA, and thinking of making it more interesting, so some of it is made up (as in the overall story/theme, not facts or answers or anything like that). A whole explanation of this made up system is required, but really only at the end. For instance, all the questions use a format that relates to this made up system, but the system is irrelevant to all the actual questions, but the last question would need a whole explanation. So, do I put the explanation at the beginning in the first question, so people can understand the first nine questions, or keep them wondering until it's explained at the end?

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

That should be " the system is irrelevant to all the actual questions, EXCEPT the last question, WHICH would need a whole explanation."

It sounds like a complex Common Bond of sorts. I'd recommend taking it to an editor in the category you're thinking of submitting to and seeing if it's doable. Because most questions go into the dailies/hourlies, it's important to have stand-alone questions outside of Brain Teasers.

Hmmm, thank you, I'll try that. Although I'm not sure if it counts as a Common Bond or Thematic Fun, at least it isn't a normal Common Bond...
