I'm writing a quiz for the Adventures in Authoring challenge. It occurs to me that there is more than one category it might fit in. Is there someone I could talk to about that?

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Sometimes there are two (or more) categories that are equally possible for your quiz. It might help you decide if you think about future players. They will find your quiz by browsing through the categories, so you want to place your quiz where it will be the kind of quiz they expect to find in that category. Thanks, Agony, for offering that advice to me several years ago.) That can help you decide, for instance, between Hobbies - Food and Science/Technology - Botany for your quiz about herbs. The difference is in the kind of question you choose to write, and the kind of extra information you provide. Playing existing quizzes in the relevant categories can help you get a feel for the kind of question that fits comfortably in each category, and you can frame your questions accordingly.

If you are writing about a person, browse through the categories and see whether People, Celebrities, or something else is best. There are clear guidelines posted in the relevant categories.

Another option, if your sure it goes into those two categories, is just going for it with the 'best fit' and leaving a note saying why you chose it. If it's a problem, the editors will recategorize it.
