Topic: What Song am I?

Subject: What Song am I?
Date: Nov 29 12

Following the same rules as the other "What ____ am I" threads, the point of this thread is that you ask yes or no questions until someone guesses the correct song. That same person then chooses the next song.

Fire away!

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Jakeroo The Star Spangled Banner? (that's certainly been sung by lots and lots of people lol)

Correct, Jakeroo. I picked it because...well, everyone knows it. Pretty much. :) You're up...

Jakeroo Oh dear, sorry for the delay, I actually proposed that guess more in jest than anything else LOL. Thanks "M" : )

okay, next up is a song from the 80s. Female singer with a somewhat "unusual" voice.

Hmm, unusual as in "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman?

Is your voice unusual because it is 'masculine'?

Jakeroo LOVE Tracy!! But sorry, not her. I don't consider this person's voice to be "masculine" at all (there is no denying she's female) but rather perhaps in the same "unique" way that Rod Stewart's voice might be considered. (that is not a gender statement, more about style/pitch).

Does the 'rasp' have anything to do with it? Say, Tina Turner?

Jakeroo love Tina2! A "rasp", yes. Guess another woman : )

Jakeroo That was a good guess "M", but sorry, Salami is correct with "Bette Davis Eyes".

I am a 1930s song, remade by too many to name, with many versions varying the lyrics to fit with the singer/singer's tastes.

"I've Got You Under My Skin"

Older.

And, similar to "I've Got You Under My Skin", its most famous cover is from the 60s.

Jakeroo Crossroads?

No and no.

One if the "remakers" was Bob Dylan (though this was not the most famous cover).
