Subject: 12 Days of Xmas Challenge - COMPLETE
Date: Dec 06 12

The QMG (Quiz Makers Guild) already covered the song '12 Days of Christmas' to great effect but we're going to spend this December with a different approach. We have twelve titles here, each based on the song. If you claim a title here, write a quiz in any category (provided it makes sense for the title) and have some fun! First come, first serve! Also, one per person unless the challenge stretches past Christmas. :)

All Titles Complete!

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

"Five Golden Rings"...I sense a Lord of the Rings themed quiz. :)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, didn't mean I'll take it...just saying. Maybe after A M's Cause gets written...

But there are nineteen Rings of Power, plus the One Ring, so 20 rings all together. Not five rings.

Anna's post made me think of something, that I'd like answered before she gets too far.... ;)

The titles don't include the "a" that the lyrics have, e.g. "Ten Lords Leaping" is the title, but the lyric is "Ten Lords a Leaping".

If we made a title called "Ten Lords A Leaping", does it count? Or does it have to be exactly like the title, and be called "Ten Lords Leaping"?

Perhaps I'm being nitpicky, but the thought occurred to me when I saw the titles, and I thought I'd mention it when I saw someone pick up a title that wasn't technically the title. :P

Is #4 four calling birds or four collie birds? I've never understood which one was the original.

It appears to me that it was originally four Colly Birds, but "calling" birds crept its way into the English language, and is more accepted than "colly", though "colly" is correct. :)
