Kyle--I also want to thank you for putting this tournament together; I think many players are unaware of the incredible amount of time and effort you've spent to organize it.
It's also helpful if, before complaining, people would read the tournament rules in their entirety. Doing so helps eliminate confusion and saves you the trouble of having to respond to unnecessary questions.

The following three Free Agent teams have been formed:
Free Agents EAA (includes players from Europe, Australia, and Asia)
Free Agents NAW (includes players from North American West)
Free Agents NAE (includes players from North American East)
For the purposes of this Invitational, North American East includes all states to the east of Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana. North American West includes Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana and all states to the west. Canada is divided along the same line.
The composition of Free Agent teams may shift slightly, and additional Free Agent teams may be formed if players from areas not yet represented join for future games. |

I love our name, too! It cracks me up every time I see it or think of it!
I also love that we went from 11th place after the first round to third place after the second round!
Go, you crazy 50 Tesla Chicken Calculators, go!

Kyle, I swear, you have the patience of Job.
Now that you've put this all together, and it is such a roaring success, don't you think maybe you should keep it going? It's taking us all SO LONG to figure it all out, by the time we do, the month will be over! Maybe not every single month, but maybe... well, who knows? I just hate to see so much hard work and determination over in such a short time. And, the 50 Tesla Chicken Calculators are just beginning to gel as a team! I'm not ready to dismember, which sounds like a bad Chicken joke, but I swear, it wasn't meant to be.
One of the best things about this is that I "found" your public tournament, Wit's End, and now I can play there for the rest of forever!
Thanks for working so hard. You're a jewel and a gem!

Haha, thank you Elle. You're very kind. And funny. =)
While I love the idea of Team Heroes as a more permanent fixture, I'm not sure it's sustainable that way. It's a huge amount of extra work for me than normal operations require, and that amount of prize offerings is beyond what I'm able to cover. I envisioned it as more of an occasional competition.
But you're right about it being a lot to get up and running, and to drop the ball on that would be a shame. If I could manage more coding and fleshed out our admin team a little more, it might work. And I suppose we could do it without the prizes.
But we'll see what happens. We're barely underway here. And I have other things to take into consideration...like the fact that I'm going to be a dad in a couple months! =) |

| Either way, I'm chuffed that you're planning to stick around. We do other fun events at Wit's End, including my favorite annual event, the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge & Sponsor Charity Game. |

Kyle, I don't know about others, but I suspect most feel as I do that we're not in it for the prizes. It's the competition, and glory for our teams :-)

Kyle,
wonderful job and hugely enjoyable concept!!
For me, the prizes are completely incidental. They weren't the spur to play int eh first place and their absence would not deter me from playing again.
What do others think?
cheers,
Mike

Completely agree--prizes are just a nice little bonus, not the reason we're all participating.
