Hi terraorca,
Per the game details (see original post to this blog), the Team Heroes Open Invitational was designed to run at Wit's End every third day.
So Team Heroes games were Feb 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, and 27. The results posted to this thread are Team Heroes results.
The remainder of the days Wit's End operates as per usual. So any scores you earned on those days do not figure into the Team Heroes standings at all.
Hope that helps. =)

Team Heroes is back at Wit's End in March for a second round.
DESCRIPTION:
This challenge is based on the Team Heroes game design at FunTrivia.com:
1. Your team does not score for the day unless a minimum of 5 team members post a score.
2. Your team score is the average of your top 5 scoring team players.
3. Your participation cannot lower your team score.
Team Heroes games will run every third day at Wit's End ( http://www.funtrivia.com/private/main.cfm?tid=37636) during the month of March and will include only pre-built categories (to ensure fair play). You will have ten opportunities to score for your team on March 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30. Games scheduled for dates other than those specified as Team Heroes dates at Wit's End will not affect your team standings.
TEAM AFFILIATION:
Any players that are members of existing FunTrivia teams may represent those teams. Players who are not affiliated with an FT team, whose affiliation is unknown, or whose existing teams are not well represented will be assigned to a Free Agent team formed by the tournament administrator. Alternatively, players may request to form a new team by merging with other under-represented teams. All teams must be locked in prior to the second Team Heroes game of the month.
REGISTRATION:
Any player who has never played at Wit's End must create a free account at Wit's End to participate. As a "private tournament", registration is separate from your FT registration. For instructions on how to do this, see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1raVtGll4trMjVRzy9gqtExEl7zS_qMj6q2LcqzXPy2E/pub.
CHECK-IN:
Players are asked to check in via the event posted by Wit's End on facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/events/562687207088700/), by emailing the tournament administrator (JCSon1982@gmail.com), or by messaging JCSon on Funtrivia.com. This will help the tournament administrator match names and usernames, determine your team affiliation, and establish a method of contact in case you should win one of the prizes. If your Wit's End user ID and your FT username differ in any way, you must inform the tournament administrator. Any players that have previously checked in DO NOT have to check in again.
PRIZES:
1) BEST TEAM: The team with the best record at the end of the month will receive a feature on the Wit's End facebook page. (VALUE: priceless)
2) BEST TEAM MVP: The MVP of the winning team at the end of the month. [No prize unless sponsored]
3) SUPERHERO: All players whose scores are in their team's top 5 scores for all ten Team Heroes games. [No prize unless sponsored]
4) HERO: All players who make their team's top 5 at least once will be entered into a random drawing for a 12 month FunTrivia.com gold membership to be used or transferred at the recipient's discretion. (VALUE: $38) [SPONSOR: DaisiJ]
If anyone wishes to sponsor a prize, please let me know what you can offer and what the value will be.
OUTREACH:
If you are a member of a FunTrivia team, please post to your team message boards and invite your team members to participate! Remember, you need at least 5 players per team per day to register a team score.

The Llamas are merging with the Dream Weavers, Kyle, to become...
Llamas Dream Revenge!
So, for March, merge us, please. :)

The Devious Demons will plod on regardless. Never in the field of human quizzing was so much answered by so many who knew so little.

Be still, my beating heart!
That was a close finish at the end, and I remain so proud of 50 Tesla Chicken Calculators!
And again, I sense a lot of mergers going on behind the scene.
We're making our team, and checking it twice, and will let you know of any changes, Kyle.
Thanks again for doing this -- is too much fun!
And congratulations on your almost-here little bundle of joy!

As far as I know, our combined team will be playing this month in the team heroes tournament. We don't need to do anything else, do we?

Jabb, I think we're good to go, since we're an established team.
I also just sent you a note in FT mail. I think. If I didn't, I sent it to kysus. Oh heck, now I can't remember! I'm going to send it to you again, just in case!

Just curious as to when you will be posting the individual winners from the February Invitational. One of our Dog Park members is in the running for Super Hero. :)

Anton, can't please everyone all of the time, so I'm planning to please the other half this month who thought all Intermediate last month was too tough. =)
Next time I'll make it more of a mix. |

No, no. You got me all wrong. I don't mind the easy ones. Speed I do not lack. But, this competition shouldn't be about hand speed over knowledge. I don't know who would complain about intermediate being too hard, or why. It has a good balance of easy and tough.

Well, a lot of players end up getting a set of more obscure questions within Intermediate. Luck of the draw. Some will get more of the easier questions, some will get more of the harder ones. Some will get a good mix.
I'm also afraid of how much speed will factor into this round, and encourage more discussion on this topic. If enough of you support going back to Intermediate, I might perhaps be willing to make the change.
Thoughts everyone? |

Just my opinion... I see all easier being like the "Piece of Cake" game where if you have high speed internet you have a shot and dial-up users are screwed. On the other hand, at least I'll feel smarter than I did in February, lol.

Kyle, I love your question topics for March, and my vote is to leave it alone.
Kyle is being lovely and gracious and doing this again for us in March! Let's leave him alone and let him do it, and thank him for all his hard work!
Love,
~Elle
