The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

It vanished in around 2006 or so, maybe you found an old version of the homepage, I hadn't noticed it on the current one.

They were called Quiz Games, as I remember, and I really loved them. You could play and chat at the same time! Unfortunately they disappeared, even from their homepage - FT wasn´t responsible for them.
