Yet another movie based on a TV show, The sweeney as a tv show was very good with John Thaw as Jack Reagan.
The film casts Ray Winstone as Reagan now there is no similarity in the Role of Regan from John Thaws portrayal to that of Winstone's But then only was only one John Thaw a truly talanted actor.
The story is adequate the entertainment value is good, but i have to say there was no need to make this film, as it pales incomparisson to the 70's tv show.
I have always liked the Sweeney but i wonder why film producers see the need to make movies like this.
It is one thats worth a watch but wll not be a classic.
