Has anything seriously annoyed you today;
I have 3 things that have annoyed me.
1st I was forced to draw in a game of Chess because I made a ridiculously silly move.
2nd I got 9/15 in impossible. I'm playing in hardcore mode so it annoyed me.
3rd Also to do with the Global for the second time this week a double starred subject came up that I'm good at. In fact have won "who's the expert" in them. Both went well, submitted quickly but I'm told it took over 130 seconds so doesn't count!! It did not. It's not fair and I'm going to sulk!!!
I don't like today at all :P
Anyone else?

lesley153 Cousin phoned today and I mentioned that I'd bought a new kettle because the old one was so slow. He said "I bet you fill it right up to the top just like (his daughter-in-law) and then complain that it takes so long to boil." So thanks, cousin, for 1.assuming I'm retarded and 2.telling me!

My truck would not start. It is kept in a garage, but not used to often since I am retired.

Luckily, I have a charger and after a short "boost" it fired right up.

lesley153 Just found myself a shiny new dentist who seems competent and I think I can trust, and just started having some work done.

Went there today to be greeted with the question did I get their letter? "It's OK, he will see you today." Oh really? Thanks a lot.

Turns out in two months' time he's going private. He will continue to see children, but will only see adults who are on some pre-payment plan. So he's going private. Not even honest private where he trusts his patients to pay their bills, but the most dishonest, cowardly, lazy sort of private.

Not pleased.

Gee, I'll certainly have to revisit this thread. Today is the anniversary of my mother's death so I can't muster up an angry emotion. There's always tomorrow. :)

Cable co, who sent me a letter about what a great customer I am and how they're going to keep my rate at a special low - well, it's up about $45, service stinks, and it affects internet and t.v., so now that I pay more I get less...except more annoyed.

callie_ross I am VERY annoyed with my car insurance company right now! It's almost time to renew my policy for 6 months & I got a notice from them saying my rates have gone down when they actually went up! My payments are $5 higher than they were to begin with! So stupid!

Daylight Savings Time started for us weeks ago. Spring forward - also one of least favorite things.

If only it was a spring - we have 20cm of snow and darkness till 8am! The coldest spring since 1951.

Where I live we have four seasons - unfortunately one of them (the winter) claims half a year, the remaining three fight for the rest.

Oh, well.

While rearranging utility room, I dropped clean laundry into the kitty box.

While putting clean towels away, the door to the towel cabinet dropped and hit me in the head (Ouch).

Last night one of my darling cats left a hairball in my computer chair...yes I sat before I saw. Hubby is smiling...he will have to pay...

I am annoyed by the sweet gum tree in my back yard. It is huge and drops millions of sweet gum balls in my yard every year. If you don't know what a sweet gum ball is:

They are about the size of a golf ball, hard as a rock, and are everywhere. Last weekend I raked up 300 to 400 pounds of them, and they are back already. They fall all year round. It wouldn't do me any good to cut down the tree, because my neighbor has an even bigger one in her yard. I loathe the sweet gum tree. Anyone who plants one should be shot, and a reward given to the shooter.

callie_ross Daver: Sounds kind of like the Black Walnut tree I have in my yard! It drops these big, hard as a rock, green blobs that turn black after awhile. They are everywhere, they stink & a person could break an ankle or foot! They sure don't look very much like walnuts, either. This past year it didn't blossom so I'm hoping its dead! I hate that tree.

You want to hear about being annoyed. Well get this. Husband had a cancer removed on Easter Saturday. We were told to come back on April 8 to have the stitches removed. Tried to make an appt time. Told, "No you have to phone on the morning and we will give you a time to see the nurse". April 8, sat twiddling the dial for a full 30 minutes before I got a ring tone. Stated reason for calling only to be told, "No I am sorry you can't see the nurse today - no appts available with her till Wednesday" That is when I did a dummy spit. Informed person on other end that we were only doing what we were told and needed those stitches out today. She then told me that I should have made an appt when the thing was done. Told her that I was following orders. Then she told whoever told me that was very naughty. That is where I lost it and told her "Sort it out but those stitches are coming out today" She came back with "Well I will have to make an appt with an available doctor to do it" Replied, "I don't care if it is the bloody tea lady" So appt was made for 11 a.m. Sat there and waited, and waited, and waited. Doctor finally fronts up around noon, and guess what - and no prizes awarded for this - doctor takes him straight into a nurse who removed the stitches. Do you wonder why my usual doctor prescribes blood pressure pills for me, they are the cause of it.

Callie, at least you can eat the walnuts! They are a pain to crack, though. You amost need a sledgehammer to crack black walnuts. I remember as a small child being given the task of cracking nuts (usually pecans, black walnuts or hickory nuts), and picking out the meat for my grandmother to use in baking. I would work for hours to get a cup full of nut meats.

callie_ross I think that walnuts from a Black Walnut tree are only fit for consumption by squirrels! Those things are nasty & I sure wouldn't be brave enough to try one! You're so right about needing a sledgehammer to break them open! The squirrels seem to be able to do it with ease, though!
