There's still an active Correction Notice in your inbox. When you've made the corrections you may make another template. Make sure to finish working with editors on your current quiz-in-progress, however.

If you try to start a new template while one is in progress after being submitted, you will be told to finish the first one before moving on. Once the corrections have been taken care of, you can set up a new template, but do not submit it until the first one is finished. This way you will learn from the editing process, and be able to write better quizzes in the future.

Chiming in here to agree - the quiz has started the editing process, so now it can only be abandoned with the permission of the editor. Editors sometimes do give this permission, but only if the quiz idea is for some reason unworkable. Especially if you are writing the quiz for AinA or some other game or challenge, you'll get a lot more out of it if you work with your editor to get the quiz online - big parts of AinA are understanding categorization, and learning to work with editors.

You've had the benefit of advice from three editors. As an author, I'd add that it is much better to finish your quiz and get it online, even though it isn't in the category you wanted. The sense of achievement will be just as great. If you want to work on your new quiz at the same time, you can always write it in Word, ready to copy and paste over to the template when the first quiz has been accepted.

This seems like a good place to reiterate as well, that if you have some kind of requirement for your quiz, like categorization, as a result of participating in a quiz challenge or commission (or Adventures in Authoring), make sure you indicate that in your quiz template in the space for notes to the editor. We have no way of knowing these requirements otherwise, so quizzes may be moved to a more appropriate category if it's submitted without any notes.

I have accidently submitted a second quiz two times lately when one is already in line for editing. I didn't do it on purpose, just automatically declared it ready without thinking. Old brain in the quiz writing groove. First time, I went back and left a note for both editors explaining. This time, I just left both with no explanation. The second one will work for A in A, but there's no rush with either quiz. But I wondered what to do if I just wanted that first one back. I went in and tinkered with it, so it's probably gone to the end of the queue.

Lady C makes a good point. As a rule, if a quiz is submitted to the incorrect category, we just move it without consulting the author. If it's important to you that it go into a specific category, let us know so that we will instead tell you what changes need to be made so that it can stay in the category you have chosen.
Please note that there is no "Keep it in the category I want even though it's not the correct one" option there. If a quiz doesn't fit, the choices are "move it" or "change it".

nannywoo, don't worry about it too much. If there was a serious problem with you submitting too many at once, you would not have the ability.

Yes if you have the ability to submit more than one quiz at a time, you're free to do so.
What we don't want is someone (usually new authors) submitting a quiz, receiving a note from the editor with detailed corrections asked for, and then instead of making those corrections and resubmitting, the author instead submits a new quiz. It's very likely that that second quiz has some of the same errors and it becomes a waste of time for multiple editors to detail the corrections needed on multiple quizzes when the author doesn't bother to work at making them and keeps making the same errors. Worse is when they receive a correction note and decide to delete quiz instead, only to make a new quiz, that guess what - needs corrections too.

I remember having read somewhere that authors who have the ability to submit a new quiz while there's still another in the queue, are advised not to submit to the same category as the quiz already in queue.
Is this rule still valid?

Depends on the category, some prefer not to have multiple submissions from the same author in the queue at the same time. In my categories, we generally don't mind having you submit two at once but they won't be going online the same day. So you can either wait to submit the second until after the first goes online, or you can not wait but we'll let the second quiz sit in the queue at least a day longer

Movies is one category where we ask that you submit only one at a time, even if you have the ability to submit more.

So now I resubmitted my quiz and went to start another in the general category and it says this category is now restricted. So now I'm not able to work on the authors challenge?
