Once again, teams will be competing in a race around FunTrivia, authoring all-new quizzes in several categories. Some will be challenging while others will be inspiring.
Follow this thread for updates about new quizzes, team progress, and the clues en route as teams compete in 'The Amazing Trivia Race 2'!
Leg 1 of the race commenced at 7:00am (FST) on August 31st.
Leg 2 of the race commenced at 12:00pm (FST) on September 5th.
Leg 3 of the race commenced at 3:30am (FST) on September 15th.

LEG #1, CLUE #1 -- 'Sea' Route Info For your first task, it’s time to get your sea legs. This one requires that one member of your team submit a quiz containing the word Sea. The word can be on its own or integrated into a larger word; something like 'Seabound' or 'Undersea' or even 'Unseasoned' would work in the title—as long as 'Sea' is in there. Once the quiz has been submitted to the queue, head to your team's forum message thread and, in bold print, write '[QUIZ TITLE] has been submitted to the [CATEGORY] queue' and you will receive your next clue as fast as I can humanly send it. LEG #1, PIT STOP A Pit Stop is a period of rest at which teams can take a short reprieve from the fast-paced race around FunTrivia. Here, their quizzes from the previous leg can continue to go online and they will depart at a specific time based on their advantages/penalties. For this leg of the race, each correction notice results in a 30 minute time penalty. Teams with quizzes still in the queue by the start of Leg 2 must keep their quizzes submitted. While that team member will not be able to submit until said quiz is placed online, they will not receive any penalties. Should they receive corrections on their late quiz, it shall be applied to the next Pit Stop (30 minutes per correction). Unfortunately, on the open tasks allowing for a choice amongst all of the categories, it is luck of the draw. Please use your best judgment when submitting to busy categories. ;) ------ Leg 2 of the Race will commence on September 5 at 12:00pm (FST). It's off to one of two spots for you (really, two categories in a Route Info task?! UNHEARD OF!). Your choice is between the Hobbies category for Exercise and Fitness or the Entertainment category for Professional Wrestling. **Alternatively, you can write a quiz in any category as long as it contains the word 'Strength' in its title. Doing so, however, will mean that you will incur a three hour penalty departing from the next Pit Stop.** Hmm...you're looking a bit tired now. Don't give up though; here’s a hint: while the Hobbies choice may look easier (considering), there's much more contention about what is 'right' for everyone in fitness; the Pro Wrestling option may seem niche and dry, but with enough research, perhaps you'll find some gems to polish. LEG #2, CLUE #2 -- Geography -> 'Euro' or 'Dollar' Detour As an athlete, you get the chance to travel to far-away destinations to compete. As a FunTrivia Amazing Racer, you get to travel even further! Trade in some currency; it's time to pick your next task in the Geography category. A Detour is a choice between two different tasks, each with their own pros and cons. Some Detour tasks may prove to be better options for some teams depending on their strengths and weaknesses, but some options may also facilitate speedier or more creative results. Only one of these quizzes needs to be completed. Euro - Write a quiz about European geography-- questions do not need to be solely about countries using the Euro as their currency. This quiz can NOT focus on a single country; it must be a mixture. For international players, a broader scope may make for a more enjoyable quiz. Remember: Your quiz should still follow some sort of theme! Dollar - Write a quiz about Canadian or U.S. geography-- questions CAN be about specific states or provinces; it does not need to be a mixture. For North American players this may prove to be a bit easier, but a narrower topic base (eg. a single state or province) may prove more difficult to manage, especially for the whole team. -------------- Euro 2. Here, their quizzes from the previous leg can continue to go online and they will depart at a specific time based on their advantages/penalties. For this leg of the race, each correction notice results in a 60 minute time penalty. Teams with quizzes still in the queue by the start of Leg 3 must keep their quizzes submitted. While that team member will not be able to submit until said quiz is placed online, they will not receive any penalties. Should they receive corrections on their late quiz, it shall be applied to the next Pit Stop (60 minutes per correction). LEG #3, CLUE #2 Double U-Turn You have arrived at the DOUBLE U-TURN. If you choose, you may force another team to complete the other side of the Detour that they did not originally choose, thus expanding the breadth of information added to the site. If that team has already passed, the U-Turn will be ineffective. Two teams may choose to use this U-Turn (as it is a Double) but a team may only use it once, and any team can not be U-Turned twice in one leg of the race. If a team is U-Turned, all teams passing by will know who has been selected and who did the deed. First come, first serve. You must notify Kyle via PM on the main site if you do or do not wish to use the U-Turn. You must also notify him if you can not use the U-Turn for any reason (ie. LEG #4, CLUE #4 -- 'Rehashed' or 'Unabashed' Detour While you're revisiting the Author's Lounge, you may recall some of our past challenges-- there were some real favourites in there. Many became famous in their own right, generating Scavenger Hunts and the like. Take a look at these possibilities for your next task. A Detour is a choice between two different tasks, each with their own pros and cons. Some Detour tasks may prove to be better options for some teams depending on their strengths and weaknesses, but some options may also facilitate speedier or more creative results. Only one of these quizzes needs to be completed. Rehashed - For this task, we're going way back. You must create a quiz to comply with either the 'Love, Trivially' challenge or the 'Dickensian Challenge', both of which have specific title requirements from the Author's Lounge. The catch-- you can't use the same title that someone else has previously used. Thinking of a possibility may be tough, especially with so much ground covered, but you never know! Unabashed - For this challenge, you don't even need to think about the Author's Lounge. Instead, you must pick one member of your team. Go through their quiz list right to the very end. The quiz with the lowest rating? That's your challenge. A different member of your team must submit a quiz in the same subcategory. Teams with good chemistry will get this task done much faster-- after all, one of your team members knows the topic well enough to have written a quiz about it. LEG #4, PIT STOP A Pit Stop is a period of rest at which teams can take a short reprieve from the fast-paced race around FunTrivia. Here, their quizzes from the previous leg can continue to go online and they will depart at a specific time based on their advantages/penalties. For this leg of the race, each correction notice results in a 60 minute time penalty. Teams with quizzes still in the queue by the start of Leg 5 must keep their quizzes submitted. While that team member will not be able to submit until said quiz is placed online, they will not receive any penalties. Should they receive corrections on their late quiz, it shall be applied to the next Pit Stop (60 minutes per correction). Unfortunately, on the open tasks allowing for a choice amongst all of the categories, it is luck of the draw. Please use your best judgment when submitting to busy categories. ;) This Leg of the race was the first to include a distinct time credit advantage-- as such, some teams will leave before the prescribed departure time. Leg 5 of the Race will commence on September 29 at 9:00am (FST).
