Ok, whats everyone reading now, and how are you liking it, would you recommend it?

I am re-reading Stephen Kings' "The Stand", I read it years ago as a young teen, and it went over my head, so I thought I'd give it another shot, now that Im older and wiser(?). Wish Me Luck! S.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Stew54 I'm reading Grisham's "The Last Juror" at the moment. Seems to be taking me longer to get through it than usual. I don't know why because it's got some interesting characters and the usual slick plot. In between I'm reading "Justice not Vengeance" by Simon Wiesenthal - emotionally hard work but compelling.

fogeltje I'm currently reading 'The Cardinal of the Kremlin' by Tom Clancy. I'm reading his novels in order of publications, having finished 'Hunt for Red October', 'Red Storm Rising' and 'Patriot Games' the last two or three months. I really like the way Clancy writes and I can't wait to dig through my pile of novels.

I must admit to being a bit of a Clancy nut myself. I've read all of 'his' novels and thought that each and every one of the was brilliant. I can't really seem to get on as well with his collaberations though. I think my favourites have got to be Red Storm Rising, and Without Remorse.

fogeltje Red Storm rising was superb. Even though it's not a 'Ryanverse' novel (part of the Jack Ryan universe) I thoroughly enjoyed it. I finished 'The Cardinal of the Kremlin' now. I enjoyed it better than 'Patriot Games'. In general I prefer the books dealing with Russians better than the ones dealing with terrorism.

I've now started Tom Clancy - Clear and Present Danger.

BtVS404 I'm reading Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan. It's pretty good. It's about a boy, Darren, and his friend, Steve who go to a freak show, and discover a vampire. The author says that it's a true story, but he changed all the names. I don't know if it really is, but that would be pretty cool!

Worth recommending to all, especially our regulars on the religion board, as it answers many of the questions asked there and they make a lot of sense.

It's 'Tomorrow's God', the latest of the conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch. I've read all but one of the earlier ones as well.

Tadpole Angel I'm reading Bryce Coutenay's "Jessica". Fabulous book, although, if expect less from such a fantastic author, it would be foolish of me.

Lucy_Girl I'm reading a suspense novel called "Deja Dead" by Kathy Reichs. The main character is a forensic anthropologist who has to track down this serial killer. The descriptions of the autopsies are a little grisly, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's squeamish!

boringkid14 I am reading "Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Charles Sheffield. I decided to pick it up after it had been on my shelf a year. It surprised me, it was good.

I'm reading "The Mists of Avalon". With my schoolwork and other stuff, I'll be lucky to get through it before fall rolls around.

awesomegirl411 Right now I'm reading The Giver by Lois Lowry (only Chapter 4, sorry!) and it's really good. I'm also waiting in suspense for Harry Potter #6 which I hope JK is working on. She's awesome! I want to meet JK and Marissa Moss who writes the "Amelia" books and also some other diaries. I love reading so much; I just recently bought "New York Minute" the book, "Sahara Special", and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" the book. I also think that "Abby Hayes" and "Abby Hayes Super Special" should be made into a movie. I have all the books up to #13.

jacobite1745 I've gotten very into a series of murder mysteries involving Shakespeare as a main character, by Simon Hawke. They have titles like "The Merchant of Vengeance" and "The Slaying of the Shrew." I'm fond of this author because he focuses more on the dialogue and how the characters interact then description and metaphors.

somebody77 I'm always reading a bunch of books at the same time. Right now, I'm reading A Walk to Remember (Nicholas Sparks), Journey To Nowhere (Mary Jane Auch - it's one of my childhood favorites), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (duh - J.K. Rowling), Telling Christina Good-bye (Lurlene McDaniel), and Witch Water (another great one, Phyliss Reynolds Naylor). I'm reading more, just can't remember them.
