Ok, whats everyone reading now, and how are you liking it, would you recommend it?

I am re-reading Stephen Kings' "The Stand", I read it years ago as a young teen, and it went over my head, so I thought I'd give it another shot, now that Im older and wiser(?). Wish Me Luck! S.

I'm attempting to read the DaVinci Code, but having a tough time getting started. I bought the DVD, but don't want to watch that until I've read the book. It took me a long time to read the Lord of the Rings too, but once I did, I was happy that I did. Great books!

I'm reading Terry Pratchett's 'Equal Rites' (Discworld series). Trying to read them in sequence but very few bookstores seem to stock them.

I've just started 'The Sins of Scripture' by John Shelby Spong. So far, so good. Very provocative.

I thought all of the Charles D.-dislikers would get a charge out of my current reading list - "A Tale of Two Cities" and "Great Expectations", along with "The Scarlet Pimpernel." I'm trying to prep for three of the English classes I teach! :)

(Okay, did you all know, seriously, that we can't write Charles' last name - I just tried and it got sent back for containing a profanity, apparently. Sigh...)

Also, on the side, I'm reading a biography of Shakespeare, by Peter Aykroyd (sp?).

Happy Reading! :)

jericha Right now I'm reading "Rain of Gold" by Victor Villasenor. I have actually read it a couple of times, it is such a great book. A story about his parents growing up in Mexico, migrating to the United States during the Mexican Revolution, meeting, falling in love, and finally getting married. I definatly recommend it!

Orson Scott Card's 'women of Genesis' series. Very nice.. Card has an insightful and realistic take on Biblical characters in my opinion. He is creative in his additions and changes but reasonable and respectful.

Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' books. I find them somewhat overwritten but they are a fun read. I've been reading quite a bit of Neil Gaiman lately, which I really enjoy and I'm reading the earlier Heinlein books with my preteen boys.

yisdaskyblue I just finished reading "Bicoastal Babe" by Cynthia Langston. It's a great book. Easy and quick to read, yet extremely fun and engaging. I recommend it to everyone. Check it out on Amazon!

Yes it is an excellent read
A must read for anyone who may actually believe there is such a thing as a global warming crisis. About time someone wrote about "media" and political nonsense that takes away from more important issues

Lofgeornost "The Republican War on Science" and "the top 10 myths about Evolution". Both out of my usual realms of reading, but I enjoy an occasional return to the sciences.

I like the looks of MALibrarian's list. I read "The Scarlet Pimpernel" in ninth grade and have fond memories, and a new biography of Shakespeare by the author of "Hawksmoor" sounds good. I read Ivor Brown's book on The Bard a few years ago.
