I am re-reading Stephen Kings' "The Stand", I read it years ago as a young teen, and it went over my head, so I thought I'd give it another shot, now that Im older and wiser(?). Wish Me Luck! S.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

I usually read more than one at a time.
ATM it's Tunnels by whoever it's by, I just finished The Spook's Battle by Joseph Delany, and as soon as the Amazon man comes back with the parcel he took away yesterday cos I didn't get to the door in time, I'll be starting "our Island Story"
Oh and I'm a couple of chapters into "The Divide" by a woman author. It's hard to read because the front cover opens down the middle and 'flops' but I'll probably finish it eventually.

I am reading:

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. It really is taking me a long time. The first few chapters weren't very good. I have ploughed along though.

I'm reading 'The Complete Short Stories of Mark Twain.' I've been quite surprised with the quality of his short stories because he's really only well-known for his two seminal novels. I'm going to try and put up quizzes on each short story on here to hopefully encourage people here to read these great works by Twain as well.

snufalufagus I'm reading Dickens' Bleak House. Despite all the people I've heard say it is too long and really boring, I actually absolutely love it!
