Ok, whats everyone reading now, and how are you liking it, would you recommend it?

I am re-reading Stephen Kings' "The Stand", I read it years ago as a young teen, and it went over my head, so I thought I'd give it another shot, now that Im older and wiser(?). Wish Me Luck! S.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

I am reading a book called 'Taming The Tiger', by Tony Anthony. Tony Anthony was the world King Fu champion 3 times. He then went on to work in personal protection as a bodyguard.

He ends up in prison in Cyprus. I don't want to spoil it for others who may like to read the book.

Not my 'usual' read...but it is an unusual autobiography about a bodyguard turned Evangelist...

It was lent to me by one of my daughter's tutors.

"Snow" by Orhan Pamuk, a Turkish writer who got the Nobel Prize for Literature. The book is very interesting.

"Cold Fire" by Dean Koontz

I'm about halfway through the novel, and so far it's pretty good. Not Koontz' BEST work, but I'd recommend giving it a read.

I read several at once (must say something abotu my attention span). Currently: "The man who loved only numbers", "The Green Mile" and "The one minute manager". Eclectic, no?

Right now I'm in a Braille reading contest. So I'm reading the Bible then after the contest ends, I'll listen to a couple of books. One is "The Outsiders" & other is "White Fang".

I'm reading "Who Owns the World" by Kevin Cahill. It's a very interesting book about who owns every piece of land on the planet.

Actually I am halfway into "The Help" and I find it rather disconcerting in that it jumps about a bit from character to character and I am having to go back and re-read parts to recall who is who. I hope the film is better than the book.

Just got through reading a book called "Alice I have been" by Melanie Benjamin. It tells the story of Alice Liddell - the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". The book blends fact and fiction and I am not so sure it is fair to do this to real people, but it was an interesting read.

Another Orhan Pamuk - "My name is red". This Turkish author is worth reading.
