I was reading some of the posts and I don't recognize half of the names. I was pleased to see that there were some from a few years back. I would have to say Bill Cosby. I never really realised how funny he was until I saw some of his old routines. My favourite English comedians would have to be John Cleese and Dawn French.

Current, Jeff Dunham, Steve Martin, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall
In the past, Red Skelton, Danny Kaye, George Carlin, Bill Cosby.
I really don't appreciate the foul language and gutter humer that makes up the majority of some comics routines today. Yes George Carlin was not always clean, but his jokes were funny, he was not gross just to get attention. Most of his routines, minus the one about the 7 words you can't say on TV would stand and still be as funny without swearing.
