DEAR STONEWALLFAN,
WELL, IF YOU'RE GOING TO RICHMOND AND TO
DC I ALSO SUGGEST THE CIVIL WAR MEDICAL
MUSEUM IN FREDERICK. THE ONLY PHOTO OF
CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS ON THE MARCH WAS
TAKEN THERE IN TOWN. THEY WERE HALTED SO
IT'S NOT TOO BLURRED. I'LL WRITE WITH
MORE. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS. THIS TERMI-
NAL DRIVES ME CRAZY. I'VE SPENT A FAIR
AMOUNT OF TIME IN GETTYSBURG AND WILL
WRITE MORE SOON. LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR
STONEWALL QUIZ. HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE
HOUSE WHERE PASSED? VERY MOVING. WE ALSO
SAW A FOX THERE AS A BONUS. I HAVE A
QUESTION FOR YOU. When they called cer-
tain cannons Napoleons,who were they
talking about? Hope to hear back.
Thanks. bye temujin

The Napoleon was the most famous cannon used during the Civil War. It was named after Charles Louis Napoléon Bonaparte of France. He was President of France from 1849 to 1852, and then Emperor of the French under the name Napoléon III from 1852 to 1870.
