Skinny Celebs

On Tv and in magazines, you always hear and see things about how celebrities want to look like skeletons with skin stretched over them. I have a high metabolism and am very skinny, I TRY to gain weight but it just isnt happening. That is why I don't understand why a 20 year old woman would want to weigh 80 pounds. What do you think about all of this?

  • If readers and viewers boycotted magazines and films starring these super-skinny celebs, then they would give up on it. So ... it's down to the public!

  • I think being too skinny on purpose is idiotic.

  • I think skinny celebs aren’t giving the right impression out, especially for teenage girls. They look upto them, they want to be "just like them" then they end up anorexic, fighting for their life. I think celebs should just be happy with average weight and stop at that, unless of course they are unable to gain weight like you, then it’s completely understandable. Some of them see it as a competition of who can be the smallest dress size, that is beyond me why they think the skinner they are the better it is, unless of course they find walking skeletons attractive.
I do hope none of my comment has offended you, it was not intended, and I do hope the best for you in gaining weight :)

  • I think that all of this is a horrible topic. I think that if people want to be skinny, they should eat right and excercize. Why pay all the money to get senseless work done on them when you can do it naturally?
As for you, I struggle with the same issue. My case isn't as bad as yours, yet I know how you feel.

  • Some of these celebrities are shockingly thin, it's a very scary trend. There's a big difference between beig naturally slim and unnaturally skinny. Victoria Beckham in her spice girl days was naturally slim and now she looks unnaturally skeletal. I probably eat more in half an hour then she eats all day. That's not normal. If you're eating well and you're healthy then I wouldn't worry too much about being skinny, don't worry because as middle age approaches the weight will creep on!
