just a bummer

my buddy left my team(wont mention any names).  He gave the team credibility and a face.  Now is not with us.  Guess I piss everyone off.  When I start pissing off my friends, its time to go.  My gold is up in a month, I wont renew, and this is the final time I will be posting, for I have played my final game.  Thanks for everything.  Farewell.

P.S.  If anyone wants to speak with me take the jarsma63 and add yahoo.com to it----its the only way you will be able to reach me know.  Diabling account now.

  • What is going on jerry?, i don't understand, i can see who has left the team and i have no idea what has happened between you both, but if you want to just give up and go then go. Just leave a team of us behind...

  • Jerry, I have no idea what's going on with you and your group or friends, but I will advise you to not give in to an impulsive moment.
Anybody is entitled to change her/his mind or reasess their priorities and schedule. Why do you 'guess' you pissed anybody off?
Your group is a good one and you have to think about your other members too and your responsibility as their leader and founder of that group.

Disabling your account seems to me like the dumbest move you can ever take. Pardon the foul language, please.

  • Yikes! I guess I'd better get this cleared up "here" first, elsewhere later. I have to think this was somehow my fault - actually, I guess it was all my fault *sigh*.
I left the group this morning...but only intended to be gone for a few minutes (I've done this before ~ but I guess it was never noticed upon earlier 'vacations'). The reason I've done that is both simple and entirely innocent: I get occasional invites into other groups that seem credible and, maybe, interesting to scope out. So I do. I can't see their message board, etc. while still being in ANY group so I leave for a while, look around, then come back.
The glitch this morning seems to have come in that I didn't return fast enough, and swift and wrong conclusions were made, private messages sent to my inbox and so forth. Good Lord! Totally an instance of a little molehill becoming a raging mountain before I even thought about it! Now that we're talking "pissed off", "terminated accounts" (and I'm tempted to change my name to Fletcher Christian) it all seems like more than just a mountain!
I apologize, I do. I'll be in touch with you today, too, Jerry. The only thing I can say at this particular point, though, is that this "bomb" seems to have been blown up without my ever realizing it had such a short fuse! Honestly, I though 'rock-solid' meant something other than the way this turned out!
But, again, the misunderstandings began (albeit inadvertantly) with me and I'll take ownership of that. It never, not once, occurred to me that some version of WWIII would happen...

  • Uh, Jerry,
Don't you think you might be being a bit sensitive here? I mean, if you really want to leave, that's your choice, but I don't think a team of people you don't even really know on a trivia website is really anything to get in a tizzy about.
I for one (and I'm sure others) came to this team because I wanted a more laid back, less competitive atmosphere. And I found it. But I didn't realize that it was so 'personal' to you.
To be honest it makes me a bit uncomfortable that we are expected to have that level of loyalty to a trivia team. It's not like we're playing for money or anything. Frankly I'm not sure why I joined a team to begin with, I'm not much of a joiner. I think maybe I'll just skip the teams altogether and just play on my own. Less stressful that way. *sigh*
Anyway, sorry this turned into a negative thing for you. Hope you feel better soon.

  • Ho boy! Jerry, I'll be writing you. But please, let's not be too hasty. I really enjoy being a part of your group. Since we're all being honest and (sort of) speaking our minds, something that my mom says comes to my mind "Sh*t happens" and sometimes we do things on one day that we wouldn't on another day. If you need to step back and take a breath, and that goes for everybody, do so, then proceed on. This too shall pass....

  • yeah. that's a bummer. You know though, the whole team gives "credibility and a face". Not just one person. That's why it's called a team?
