Something About Nothing

Brilliant!

8.55am a couple of weeks ago I hit the net and attempted to by myself some GA tickets to see the Kings of Leon playing in Christchurch. Absolutely everything at Ticketek's end crashed. $200 went out of my bank account into theirs with amazing efficiency, but do you think I could get a hold of anyone to confirm whether I'd actually brought my tickets or not?

You bet I couldn't.

I've spent nearly two weeks on hold; I couldn't reach a person, I got no reply to my emails, and the tickets I'm pretty sure I brought sold out really fast.

Yesterday I got a call form a woman who lives one street over from me but at the same number. She'd received a courier delivery for me. I wandered over, and sure enough it was the two $100 tickets I'd paid for. I'd also paid $12 to have them signature delivered to my door. The nice woman that tracked me down didn't sign for the tickets, they were left on her back door step.

I hate monopolies.

I love the Kings of Leon though...roll on March!

  • Well, although the delivery people and Ticketek need a swift kick in the tushy, your "one street over" neighbor is a good human. Considering she did not have to sign for them, contacting you was a blessing.

Have tons of fun. I am off to find out who the Kings of Leon are....I am so out of touch with the modern world.

Down with monopolies. Up with efficiency.

  • Kings of Leon!!! I'm so jealous, but hope you enjoy the concert!

Very glad to hear you got your tickets after all the mishandling (and pricey too!). We've had couriered stuff arrive at our neighbour's house because we weren't home and they accepted someone else's signature. You never know about delivery service these days.

  • Did you get the tickets in time to use them? I have no idea who they are, but I hope you got $100 seats!
