Next time

We decided not to try and make the show. The logic was that it was still snowing and it would be better not to end up in the ditch. I am still a little disappointed but we'll see them next time. Dad and my cousin made it to the Nuggets game but Mom threatened to burn the rest of the tickets if they didn't leave at halftime so they cut it short and made it home about midnight. My Mom told my cousin that she'd get her to another game sometime. We have tickets to three more shows before the end of the year and we're hoping our luck with the weather improves since it also dropped snow on us in March when we went to see Disturbed.

Last night my front gate came undone and the dogs decided to go for a walkabout. I called Mom and she sent Dad out while she started clearing off her car. Dad found them about half a block down the road. I wasn't late for work luckily but they did get yelled at and left in the house. The gate comes undone because last summer the truck delivering gravel for the driveway hit it. Me and Dad just sunk a new one but didn't cement it. Next time we'll do it right. So I'm keeping one eye on them in case it comes open again. Mom called me at work to tell me that it was open this morning but I'd already left. Either Linda or Vicky hung up on her after giving that information so tomorrow I will ask who hung up on my mother and tell them that they need to have better manners. Of course I walk into a disaster this morning and Linda tells me we have a walkthrough on Monday so everything needs to be perfect by then. I'd really like to tell her to have Sal do it since he's so perfect. I think I might ask about that. Still no word about the strike. I did send a letter to the editor of the local paper basically saying that if we go on strike, people don't have to shop the big box stores. I wrote it a month ago and Mom found it in the paper yesterday.

Hope everyone is well. I hear hot chocolate calling my name. Have a happy day!

  • Nothing changes. Best part of 40 years ago, the typing pool supervisor hung up on a caller because the typists weren't allowed personal calls. This particular personal call had been from a neighbour, to tell her that her house was flooded. We all heard about it because we couldn't believe that the supervisor could be such a jobsworth. There have always been consummate idiots, with no people skills, promoted well above their level of competence, and I reckon there always will be.

That must have been a horrible decision to make, but we'd have been much more disappointed if you had landed in a ditch. There'll be more shows, but only one you.
