A different day
I do hope I'm not boring everyone, but if I'm currently the only regular reporter here it's not much I can do about that. Today was a bit of an odd one. Potters Bar was off as they'd already sent the letter which now has to be delivered with half this and next week on strike. Ms M2 thank goodness phoned to say she was busy so I ended up totally free. There was a really long run of TV to be watched later, which hasn't happened for ages but before then I was at a loose end and just decided to check a road in Harrow as I had little else to do when the phone rang. Some way into it the doorbell rang and my friend from Surrey turned up as he'd just got a work placement and did a detour home and passed here. He then went outside to show me his car (I'm on a steep hill) and it wasn't there. I didn't know where he parked but he spotted its absence through the window and went to investigate, and found it stuck in the middle of the road against two parked cars, surrounded by neighbours taking photos of them. Oh dear. He has been accident prone since I met him over 30 years ago, and even manages to do it when not present. One car was more or less OK, one had a small dent and his came off worst. He had a scrape someone else did on that side already so hopefully can all be done on one single claim and not cost him twice.
I spent the short time before TV dealing with the jungle behind the house that should have been a garden but overplanted by its previous owners. I cleared some when I arrived but most grew back eventually and aren't happy paying maybe £1000 to get rid of it and have lawn put down. I think I can relax on the road signs now, I got not one but two white arrows at last within a week and more or less have the full set within an hour's drive or so, although there's a massive gap beyond meaning the next hour besides a couple in Kent (dreadful roads there) is empty space sign wise. The two big counties to the NW are apparently ones like many whose councils tracked and cleared every last remnant of history, while others keep as many as they can get away with, luckily those where I live. So unless another information sign also turns up on a back street in London my work may be done.
I do think more things, like finding the new car and other little ones are being guided for me, once you look for arrangement it starts to show. As it now ought to be for the good then I know what my own aims are. And the story of the radiation leak has just been published in a local paper so no longer in the private domain. I hope some more people add their information now. At least I had nice Chinese food to eat twice today so something came from last night's version of killing time. I'm not a cynic, just a realist...
Tomorrow is covered as I'm working just before I go to my mother's so no need to think of anywhere else to waste my petrol.

I have had nightmares of the sort your friend experienced, in real life! I guess he forgot to set the parking brake?
I love Chinese, but soy sauce does me in, and I cannot resist it!
I'm glad your new car is acceptable.

He said he couldn't have pulled it up all the way. Not a good idea here and we leave ours in gear as well. I hope I have no more car related excitement for a long time now...
