'prose and cons' on two weeks notice

A Writer's Plea

I would like to thank all the fine bloggers on this web site for their patience and their feedback.  There are truly some gifted writers and poets in the house.  I strive to hold a candle to their wind.

I have started blogging here on FT, in an effort to find where I can apply my interests and talents.  But I have only been writing for about six weeks, so apologize for my naivete and sophmoric abilities.  I have been trying to stretch myself by excerizing different writing styles and forms.  Somewhere in these efforts I hope to find a comfort zone, but it is a process.  I feel some of my poetic efforts should be more 'lusty', and not so 'mushy', but I am working that out.  It is a work in progress.

I would like to thank Joy for her encouragement.  She is like a second mother to me, and I respect her opinion.  And, like my own mom, I love her spirit and maturity.  She has invested much into my writing efforts by her encouragement.  She is a wonderful lady, and the genuine article.

I will continue to write as the inspiration comes.  I have joined the Georgia Writers Association and hope to get feedback and inspiration from the wonderful people there.  They also have encouraging writers that help to show you avenues for copywrite and publication.  But I'm sure my writing will have to mature before that is even considered.

Thank you to all the FT bloggers for their patience.  I pray that you would want to see a few more 'seasons' before passing judgement.

Peace

  • Goodness, Bob - that's keen, joining a Writers Association! Good luck with the writing and with whatever you want to do with it.

  • Way to go Bob I too would like to join a writers group, my town is too small although the local university has a creative writing course that I am considering, however I too have a muse in Lesley. I am most grateful to her and I appreciate the support from the others on this sweet blog who have encouraged me.

  • Goodness - I've never been called a muse before! That's a big label to live up to.

I like it here. More and more every day.

  • I think you ought to take these words back, Bob: "so apologize for my naivete and sophmoric abilities". You are anything BUT sophmoric and have nothing to apologize for - to anyone on here. Bring on the seasons, they are much more enjoyable when shared with others.

  • I also wonder who could've discouraged you around here [ hopefully nobody]. Your stuff is always a pleasure to read,no matter what the style or subject matter.

  • Hi, Bob...You're gonna hit your writing stride soon enough...In the meantime, enjoy experimenting and trying some different things. You've already got some pretty good skills, and you've got a great group of readers based on the comments you've already gotten. So you are well on the way! Keep 'em coming!
