Boys Just Want to Have Fun
My life is always after me
To do the things I should
But should seems too responsible
Id rather things I would
Its not that I cant take the helm
And act responsibly
Theres just so many other things
In life, enticing me
I clean house, and pay the bills
But golf it tends to call
And lunch with friends instead of chores
Is really best of all
If given just a single chance
To work instead of play
Ill likely take the easy out
And while away the day
At times I actually have to put
My shoulder to the wheel
And the grindstone to my nose
Regrets, I never feel
When I work hard in tiny bursts
And get what I can done
I dont feel bad for goofing off
When its time for fun
Spending time with those I love
Investing in each one
Leaves a legacy in life
Not to be undone
When Im gone and people speak
Of things on my behalf
I hope they say he laughed and loved
A fitting epitaph

I too vote for happy, I might even vote for goofing off, thank Bob you summed up the way I feel as well.

Yes, that could have been me too. No, it is me. Goofing off (whatever that means) wins every time. So does the campaign to abolish "should" and "ought" from the human vocabulary.

"But golf it tends to call"
Hmm, I wonder how many males can identify with that? Come to think of it, I used to feel like that when I could still play! Thanks, Bob, for continuing to explore the world of words.

You know, Bob we could sure use your metered prowess over on the forums...bad pirate poetry, rhymes about personality transplants and other dubious subject matter too dreary to mention. Another crack verbal stunt pilot would sure liven things up.
Think it over.
