Seasons
An ever raging battle forge
Twixt seasons all year long
As one transitions to the next
The life force strain plays on
Spring concedes to Summer just
As Winter follows Fall
One season wanes, another rise
Time's unrelenting crawl
Delicate Narcissus lift their
Heads through frosty rime
As Winter loose a hoary clutch
And Spring begins its time
Golden reds and browns, the jewels that
Frame the Autumn sky
Are stolen from their arbored perch
As Winter winds whip by
Seasons in our lives are much
The same as all of these
Transition ‘tween each one of them
Cause struggles, ill at ease
Some will judge our lifework
Based on seasons, just a few
The ones that love us most of all
Will see the whole year through
