The Downside...
As Alan Jackson's song 'Work" says, I have been working way too much all day and at six days a week. In this economy it is a good thing, but after a time, relaxation and lots of sleep is most definitely needed.
I used to be able to come on to Funtrivia and feel relaxed. However, this is no longer the case. All it does is make me feel uptight and down right angry most times.
What frustrates me is that every single time a post is made on a blog, it seems as if someone, somewhere has something to say. Cannot one post on his or her own blog without fear of retaliation posts? I guess not.
My thinking is that we are all supposed to be grown-ups (notice I use the word supposed). The thing that really gets me is that if what is posted on someone's blog bothers another, then do not read it. I am certainly not hog-tying and forcing anyone, anywhere to read or to post on my blog.
I consider this space my venting and release space. If this is too much for others to deal with or handle, well then, just do not bother to read my blog or post on it.
Sounds like a simple solution, yes? I think so.
Ta!

I like what you have to say, and always appreciate the 'adult' frame of mind. Thanks for the anchoring voice of reason. Try reading poetry. It's very calming and non-controversial. LOL

I agree 100% and have said the same thing,if people don't like my blog, they can stay away. Thanks for "telling it like it is".

It really sucks when funtrivia is no longer fun. I agree 100% with you there and have avoided coming on here myself when there was too much drama. I hope everything resolves itself.
So how are you enjoying our first good snowfall? I am absolutely thrilled with it even though it will be a mess to drive in it.

You're absolutely right, JTJ. The Blogs have become very strange.

Bobcat, I do try to be the adult voice of reason, but even I, sometimes forget that and get caught-up in the "kiddie" behaviour that is oftentimes displayed. Thanks for the idea about the poetry, I will definitely give that a try! :-)
Kitkat121080, ah, yes the lovely snowfall, it looks so pretty, and that's about it! I want the paultry four inches or thereabouts gone, gone and gone quickly! Far too many crazies out there driving in slick conditions like they are heading somewhere important! (emergency vehicles are exempt from this, but even still they too need to proceed with extra caution!). I will be very happy when all of the white stuff disappears...at least until the next snowfall. :-)

I pass for grown-up!
My first blog asked a question, and all the others have been diaries, often with an element of rant. Amazingly, I've not had a single comment I've taken exception to - although that can always change. If I am completely at odds with the ideas in someone else's blog, I don't comment.
It's still cold here, but the sun is bright, and it's shining on the snow. Bye-bye snow and please don't come back. Agnes, take a deep breath, and keep writing - and enjoying doing it.

I can only echo Lesley on the blogs. Unlike public blogs every person who comments here is known to us and named, so ought to behave better. But we're all only human so if someone feels like complaining online it's always easier than face to face but hasn't happened to me here either.

I love what you have to say JTJ.I usually read all of the blogs but have stopped replying to the ones that seam to only want their egos stoked.

Honeybee, you hit the nail right on the head with that statement! Bingo! Thanks for that post...I love it! :-)

Lesley, that's it in a nutshell! I do it, you do it, others do it (if you don't like what someone has to say in or on "their" blog here at FT), then don't bother reading or posting. However, that being said, I know (for a fact), there are quite a few others that do not think that way, and think they can and deserve to post whatever, whenever they wish on someone else's blog.
You have been lucky then Lesley...thank goodness! :-)

Keep writing, keep feeling, and keep being yourself, Agnes. There are people who will never be happy, no matter what, but will act 'as if' they always are. There will always be people who feel a need to control by playing games.
I have learned so many things from writers on here (Yaarbiriah, satguru, cag), I have laughed so hard my sides hurt (Lesley and her stories, always, along with Sizzileen's off the wall humor), and I am amazed at the depth of feelings Bob and Garry's poems bring out in me, and ALL the others who write here. We share death and love and heartbreak and signs and cars and cows, the list is endeless. This is supposed to be a place to share, not a battleground, so don't pick up a weapon and you won't need to worry about it.

Thanks, Agnes. I don't think I have the right to blast in to someone else's diary and tell them what "bad people" they are - just because I don't agree with them. This is meant to be a relaxing place where we can share ideas, or ignore them, as we please: and not, indeed, a battleground.
It's also been a wonderful place when people have come to ask for support, and can rely on being supported. Bullying has no place here.
As I've never had an unhappy comment on my blog, I agree - I count myself very lucky indeed.

I feel left out. I probably should be feuding with someone. I'll go troll the blogs now so I can pick a fight with someone. Ha! Seriously, people need to STOP!

Pagie, I am not, nor have I ever stated something for someone to go out and "feud" with another on FT. I NEVER said that. If that is what you think, then I really do not know what to say or tell you.
No kidding it needs to stop, everyone should realise that while everyone may not like what someone posts, that does not give anyone the right to twist things to suit his or her own needs and issues.
Quite honestly, I am more than a bit shocked by your comments, as it is comments like that that start the crap going 'round and 'round.
By JuniorTheJaws, Feb 04 09 5:34 PM
I'm so sorry--I was just joking! I promise!
