Adoptees
I have two kittens, precious souls
Who love most earnestly
I wasnt searching for a pet
See, they adopted me
I took them in so young and sweet
They needed love and caring
But soon found out, that it was me
Whose life has needed sharing
They entertain most raucously
All things become a toy
They crouch and wiggle, then they pounce
Then turn, aloof and coy
After eating and some frisky play
My lap is where they find
A belly rub and kitty talk
And loving hands so kind
They look to me to serve their needs
I sometimes have to laugh
To dogs, youre lord and owner, but
To cats youre merely staff
