FIRE

We are in the middle of a fire storm here in central Oklahoma, over a hundred homes lost already. The fires are mostly west of shawnee were I live but the wind is going to change and move the fire towards us. I must say that it makes one quite nervous. I don't think I will be able to sleep because I have to keep my eye on the movement of the fire. What a strange evening. I have lived here all my life and I don't ever remember a fire of this magnatude. The wind is gusting over 40 mph and the fire departments just can't get the fires under control. Rain is the only thing that can help us and it doesn't look like we are going to get any. The oddest thing is I am worried about my dang boat, I would hate for it to burn before I ever get it in the water. I guess I could hook it to my car if I have to flee the neighbor hood. Think about us we need some good thoughts headed this way.

  • We have the same thing going on here. There were fires in 5 counties. The wind was blowing so hard the Forest Service couldn't send up the planes and helicopters to help.I don't know how many homes were lost. The wind has died down now so hopefully they can get them out.I hope everything is better there now, too.Good thoughts to you.

  • In midwest city which is a suburb of OKC they have lost over 100 homes, I don't know what the total is for the state and when you add in Texas there is not telling how many homes have been lost. A sad day for a lot of people.

  • I have been worrying about you and Joy after hearing the news. I hope you both will be OK. Fire is always a danger in California, especially down south with the Santa Ana winds. I'm sorry to hear about all of the homes that have been lost and all the worry you all have to go through.

  • All's well, one of my co workers lost his home, but he is insured and seems to be in good spirits. The fire never got this far east, but the folks around the city got hit hard. Now it looks like the fires were set by some kind of arsonist, I can't imagine doing something like that for a kick, peopele are truly stange.r

  • I feel for you Garry and anyone else feeling 'under threat'!
What is it about the kind of weather conditions that just seems to suck the firebugs out of hiding!
Be nice to make the punishment fit the crime!

I'm happy for you that all is now well and I hope your boat is Now Wet! :)
What are you waitng for? ;)
