Golf Balls Are Depressed

I’ve been golfing for 4 years now but it wasn’t until today that I figured golf balls out.  They have issues with depression.  Here is how I came to that conclusion.  I went golfing this morning and I took a Max-fli out of my bag.  I’m usually a Nike and Pinnacle man, but this ball was giving off good vibes so I thought I’d use it.  And it did great.  It chipped in on the first hole for par.  Three holes later it sank itself on a 15’ downhill, left to right putt for par.  It was also flying off my driver straight and true.  Great.  But I guess the pressure of being a golf ball got to it.  Two holes after that par putt the ball and I came to a short par 3 with a pond on the right.  My Max-fli saw its chance.  It went squibbing off the club into the water.  And it wasn’t near the edge where I could fish it out.  It splashed into the middle of that pond.  The ball was obviously depressed.  There is no other explanation for how I could squib a 7 iron that badly.

I guess I can see how a golf ball could get that way.  You hit it with progressively smaller clubs until it goes to its home—the hole.  As it lies in the bottom of the cup it is probably thinking “job well done, me; it’s Miller time; fetch my pipe and slippers; I’m out.”  But then you pick it up, carry it to the next hole AND HIT IT WITH THE BIGGEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG.   Imagine if you did a job and did it well and when you finished your boss came along and gave you another one!  That must be just how a golf ball feels.

Well I carried on with a blue-mark Pinnacle.  But you better believe I kept my eye on that sucker for any signs of self-destructive behavior—especially if there was any water nearby.

  • Not only are they depressed but they are bipolar, I have seen them run away from a hole when they know where they were supposed to go.

  • Batteries are bipolar but they fixed that when they started making them with lithium.
