A Tale of Two Kitties....and Me

Adjusting

Hi, All!  Sorry for not writing this week, but didn't really have much to talk about.  Been 'resting' until it is coming out of my ears.  I am doing okay, but new limitations (hopefully temporary ones) have been quite an adjustment.  Where I used to be able to hike to the c-store if I ran out of something, I can't do that right now and have learned to do some serious planning ahead.  Last week, I answered phones at the shelter on Wednesday and Friday but had to tell them I could only do it if I had a ride both ways.  It's been very hard for me to ask for extra help, as I've always reveled in my independence.

There have been no more bat sightings, but my heart skipped a couple of beats - literally - last week when the biggest black moth I've ever seen fluttered through the living room.  This thing must've been a mutant because it was nearly as big as the palm of my hand!  It wasn't until it landed on a wall that I knew it was really a moth.  *Shivers!*

Bubba is also doing well.  He has been very vocal this week, sitting at my feet and yowling until I pick him up.  He checks in for a cuddle and then he's off for another nap.  This is his daily routine.  Today, though, he actually played - by himself, which is very rare.  He was throwing toys all over the living room!  Not too sure what got into him....but it was fun to watch.

  • That's good - resting is what you needed to do. Just as long as you've got something to keep your brain busy, so you don't get so bored that your head falls off.

Take all the lifts you can get! You need help and they need yours. Sounds like a good deal.

  • Lifts are still you being independant - just doesn't wear you out! Sounds good to me! :)
How different is that from calling a taxi for a ride instead? Hiking can wait. :)
As part of your planning - can you arrange a shopping stop on the way home after your 'Receptionist Duties'?

Nice to hear Bubba is having Kittie Play Time! Nice for Him to play - Nice for you to enjoy watching. :)
