My Boys
Bubba and Rocky are not quite friends yet, but they are not enemies either. So far, they are quietly tolerating each other's existence. Rocky got close to Bubba...and Bubba growled. Then later Bubba decided he wanted to be friends...and Rocky hissed. They will get there.
Watching them takes some of the pain away. The same night Rocky came, a couple of hours earlier, I slipped out of one of my shoes and fell down half the flight of (wooden) stairs outside my apartment. Went down mainly on the arch of the bare foot, with the toes bent back. The littlest two toes might be broken, but I am staying off my feet. Am surprised that the rest of my body is so stiff and sore from this little non-adventure! But my two boys are excellent medicine. Here is the moment when Rocky and Bubba first met:

Beth, have you let a doctor check you over? Cats can cheer you up but only when you know you're OK and in once piece. Please, look after yourself!

There's really nothing a doctor could do. The only thing (possibly) broken is a toe or two - the smallest ones. He wouldn't even set them. And for the muscle pain/stiffness...aspirin and rest. Am staying off my feet for a couple of days and had the foot elevated and iced at first, so I am being careful.

In that case, I hope there are people to wait on you all hand and paw while you rest and mend.

Toes do not like to be bent backwards. OUCH!
Please keep an eye on them for bleeding under the nails.

I hope your foot is feeling better very soon - but it sounds like you have a couple of good distractions! :)
Lovely to see the nose to nose meeting - looks like a stand-off! lol
And the 'Pledge' bottle adds an interesting twist! :)
