Here's Your Jeopardy! Reminder...

On Friday, television history will be made.

Okay, it won't exactly be earth-shaking, but it will be fun.

I will be making my national television debut on the hit game show Jeopardy!  This is it - the culmination of watching hundreds of episodes, answering thousands of questions, doing auditions and finally standing on the stage at Sony Pictures Studios.  I'm just as excited now as the day I hit the stage.

And I'm proud that I'll get to share this moment with my FunTrivia family.

Before we actually started taping, though, we had one thing to do - Hometown Howdies, which are short promos done for our home markets to run during the week prior to the show.  You can see my Hometown Howdy, and those of my fellow contestants, by clicking here

I hope you watch the show, and that I did you all proud.

  • Just took the sample quiz on the Jeopardy website. Combine that with the fears most people have of standing in front of a camera...I'm clacking the rosary beads for you, if that's okay.

  • Thank, Pagie and Deunan...I appreciate your sentiments!

Oddball, you have good reason to fear - playing Jeopardy! is not an easy thing to do!

Pattycake and Patsy, I know you won't see it until later, but I hope I did you proud.

  • Cag you were great! You had the lead for the entire game! xD

I got some of your questions like the Glenn Close one and the Sopwith camel one. xD

Your voice sounds very distinguished and lol for the novel in 50000 words thing.

Hey at least you get like 5000 dollars!

  • You're so funny, DJ! Thanks for the kinds words...A little secret for you, though - I only get $2,000. That's the prize for second place. Jillian Hinchcliffe, the woman who finished third, will get $1,000. I won't get that money until 120 days from now - just in time to pay the bills for Christmas!

  • We were out of town for a couple of days so I just watched it this afternoon. I thought you were very personable and did very well throughout the show. The other guy had extremely fast reflexes on the buzzer though.

Too bad you didn't hear us yelling "EDWARD LEAR!" at you. At first I said Lewis Carroll, but my husband said no, Carroll was born too early. Then we hit on Lear. But Samuel Beckett?? He was born in the 20th Century and was not known for nonsense verse, but for his very dark comedic plays. He died in the 80's. Maybe you were thinking of someone else.

But you did a good job and it was fun seeing someone known through Funtrivia.

  • The only Lear that kept flitting through my mind was Norman Lear - and since he's American, he would've been wrong, too.

Just so happens that at a viewing party I attended, someone else thought the answer was Lewis Carroll. That name didn't come to mind as I was at the podium.

  • Wait what was the question again? It was like about Tennyson poem and Queen something?
