Stiff and Sore but Entertained
Hi, All! I am doing a little better today. Still rather sore, but the toes are not as swollen and I can stand for short periods of time (like to do the dishes or make a meatloaf), if I don't put too much weight on the injured foot. Took an extra long nap today, which was very restorative. And I am still sticking pretty much to my chair, but I am not bored. The boys are keeping me entertained.
Rocky is a wanderer. He has to inspect every tiny detail of the apartment, over and over again. He makes one round, then checks in with me for a cuddle and a pat, and then he's off. His favorite place to sleep? My tiny shower stall. Bubba is still being Mr. Grumpypants. He will finally allow me to hold him again and even nuzzles a little bit - until he sees Rocky and then all bets are off. He growls at poor Rocky ever time he walks past, even several feet away. But a few minutes ago, they were nose to nose and there was no growl. Progress!

Beth, have you introduced Bubba and Rocky to each other?

Oh yes, at the start and several times a day since then. They seem to do better finding each other on their own, though, and I make sure and praise both of them when they can be in each other's proximity without hostility. They will get there. It takes time.

Bubba has been an 'only cat' - that probably takes a little getting used to.
Then he'll discover how much fun it is with a 'sibling'. :)

Bubba lived most of his life in a multi-cat household, but he has gotten very spoiled in the last nine months. He has to get used to sharing all over again. :)

It also appears Bubba is very protective of his Beth.

Bubba is much better tonight. At least, with me. With Rocky...not so much.
