TV Addictions

Up until recently I have never been a massive TV fan, but a change in lifestyle has made it necessary to just blob out in the evenings for a couple of hours. As a result of this I've been watching a lot of American fictional TV,  so I thought I would let you know my current favourite programmes...

Boston Legal - Very well made, clever and sometimes extremely funny but also very thought provoking at times.

CSI - I find all the CSIs excellent (although I don't really like Caruso's character), I have always had an interest in forensic science. I like the way the investigations pan out, the techniques they use to get evidence etc. Sometimes the extra's are not up to much though!

Lost, series 2 - Not as intriguing as the first series but still a really good watch. Did they change directors?

Criminal Minds -  A new crime drama, a small elite team of FBI profilers fly around America trouble shooting serious crimes. The characters are filling out a bit now, and I enjoy the interaction between the main guy and his geeky protege.

Bones - The guy from Angel (I think), plays an FBI agent who teams up with a bunch of forensic anthropologists to solve crimes. Usually all they have is a body to work on, and it's interesting to see some of the ways they get evidence. More lightweight than CSI but still very enjoyable.

Criminal Intent - Yet another crime drama, this has meaty, interesting storylines and good, solid acting. I particularly like Vincent D'Onofrio's character in this. He is quite strange and quirky, but obviously very smart.

Invasion -  I have only seen 3 episodes of this up to now, and it seems very good. Something to do with people being taken over by aliens, similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers I think. They are not giving much away at this early stage. "Invasion" has a weird atmosphere, which I like. It feels a bit like one called American Gothic I watched a few years back.

And now for something completely different...

My Name is Earl - This is a new one to me, and I find it hilarious. Earl wins the lottery and decides to right all the wrongs he has done throughout his life, and there are a lot of them! Give it a try if you haven't seen it.

Trailer Park Boys - If you haven't seen this yet you have to give it a go. The characters are all despicable, yet so very watchable. TPB is done in a documentary style which is a bit like the British comedy "The Office".

P.S. The bullet points are not working, and I couldn't be bothered rewriting it all...
