High and Dry
Does anyone out there still hang clothes out to dry? I do. I grew up learning that from my Mom. Natural clothes dryer. Saves on my electric bill too.
And they smell so good when you take them down.
Yes, there are drawbacks to hanging clothes out.
Bugs you have to chase off before you take them in.
Rain pouring down, 5 minutes after you hang them.
And the neighbors seeing all your unmentionables in assorted colors and sizes.
And to crawl into bed on nice clean sheets that smell of the outdoors is heaven!
Unless of course you wake up in the middle of the night, with one of those bugs you missed crawling up your leg like a mountain climber.
Yep, it happened. The offending bug? A grandaddy long leg.
You could hear the screams for miles.

Yes we do the same I don't care if people see what I wear or not.
Sorry but that is how I am.

Until the post fell to pieces all my stuff hung on the line in the garden. I think our neighbours will have seen our outer clothes on us many times, and we all share similar bedding and underwear. And if you don't then you'll be impressing your neighbours with your original taste. Hanging stuff on a dodgy rack in the bath is no comparison as I do now.

I've done that also Satguru, hung my clothes in the bathroom, and went to far as stringing clothesline in a spare bedroom to hang clothes on when my dryer broke. (Where I was living at the time, didn't allow for clotheslines). But it's just not the same...:)

I'm a bit obsessive when hanging out clothes, in that I hang all the knickers together then all the socks (pairs together) then t shirts etc etc. I do get a strange satisfaction from seeing my laundry blowing on the line!

me_have$$$ please refrain from posting on my blog whether you are gay or not, this is not a dating blog, nor is it a place to be nasty to someone else.

I do the exact same thing 50ftqueenie. All my stuff has to be together, and it has to go from longest to shortest and towels all have to be color coordinated. I wonder if this is what they call obcsessive/compulsive? LOL :)

I try to hang out my laundry when I can, except I get kind of paraniod putting my undergarmets out there for the world to see. Also I hate when jeans get crunchy! No one likes crunchy pants.

I hang my clothes outdoors, and here is how I do it - I hang my undies and other "unmentionables" (my nanna's word) on the inner lines, and the larger items on the outer lines, where they effectively shield the undies from the eyes of prying neighbours! My pegs come in 3 colours, and I will peg out socks in pairs AND the pegs have to match. On the larger items, I use the pegs in order - 1 x red, 1 x white, 1 x blue, then back to red again. (I've been known to stress if I can't do it this way). It's weird, I know. I'm over it.
I used to share a house with a guy, and we shared the domestic chores, including the washing. I didn't mind him doing the laundry and washing my unmentionables, as it was a great barometer for how he was feeling. I knew he had had a bad day at work if i came home to find my bras hung out to dry with the pegs holding up the cups!!!!
